1 1 AVVIO 505 GSM Digital Mobile Phone User Guide 2 1 Thank you for choosing the AVVIO 505 GSM digital mobile phone. After reading this guide you will be able to fully master the use of your AVVIO 505 mobile phone and appreciate all its functions and ease of use. The AVVIO 505 mobile phone is designed for use on the GSM networks. Not only does the AVVIO 505 provide you with basic calling functions, but also with many practical functions such as a name card style phonebook, personalized 64 chord ring tones and pictures, clock, alarm, camera, phonic kinescope, MP3/MP4 player, Memory (T-Flash) card, sound recorder, calculator, automatic power on/power off, to improve the time you spend working and playing. Moreover, the AVVIO 505 uses a personalized man-machine interface and the perfect functional design will satisfy all your needs. The AVVIO 505 TV mobile phone is compatible with GSM technology and has been approved by certification authorities both domestically and abroad. Dial key: to dial and pick up calls; on standby, to see the calls record list. 3. Right soft key:to perform the function of the prompt displayed in lower right corner of the screen. 4. Torch Light key: the key is to use light. 5. Left/right keys:for moving the cursor when editing text; on standby, press the left key to enter the “Write Messages” menu, press the right key to enter into the “Tone Setup” menu. At the camera preview mode, press the left/right keys to 5 circularly switch with EV; in the [File Manager] \[Memory Card] submenu, press the left key to return the upper menu, press the right key to open the file. 6. Up/down keys:scroll to view names, phone numbers, SMS, MMS etc, moves the cursor up and down when editing text; on standby, press the up key to enter the “Video Recorder” menu, press the down key to enter into the “Alarm” menu. At the camera preview mode, press the up/down keys to adjust Zoom. 7. Camera key:.taking pictures 8. Number key: to import numbers;When playing music,use 6 to decrease volume,use 3 to increase volume. 9. OK key: to enter the menu or execute the function which hightlighted. 10. Hang-up key: to end a call or reject incoming calls; under most circumstances pressing this key will put the mobile phone into standby mode. 11. TV keys: to play TV. 12. Mp3 keys: to play music 6 Battery The battery is initially charged with 50% of its total capacity, you can unpack and use it. Please recharge the battery to full after it's exhausted for the first 3 times, so as to make the best of your battery. Removal and Installation of the Battery „ When removing the battery follow the following steps: ①Push the battery cover towards bottom; ②Raise the battery bottom, break out the battery from the mobile-phone. Warning: You must turn off your mobile phone before removing the battery. Under no circumstances should you remove the battery when the mobile phone is on as this may damage the SIM card and your mobile phone. „ When installing the battery follow the following steps: ①According to arrowhead direction, push the battery 7 to inset mobile-phone. Cover with ②the battery cover. ③Push the battery cover towards top. „ The charger connector with the left side of the phone (with the arrow pointing upward). „ The charger connector with the electrical source. „ The battery capacity indicator in Icon Area will then flash periodically; when charging at power-off status, charging indicator on the screen means the phone is charging now. If you are using a phone in low battery, it may need certain time for charging indicator to appear on the screen after starting to charge. „ When the Capacity Indicator in Icon Area is full and doesn't flash any more, the charging process is complete. If your phone is charged in power off status, charging complete screen will also display. Charging process usually takes 1-2.5 hours. Battery, phone and charger normally turns hot during charging process. „ When charging process complete, disconnect connections between AC power outlet, your phone and the charger. Attention: „ Be sure to charge in ventilated place with the 8 temperature ranging from -10°C to +45°C, and always use the charger provided by original manufacturer. Using unauthorized charger may cause danger, and also violates warranty coverage of the manufacturer. „ Charge your battery in time when the phone automatically powers off or displays low battery warning. The phone will automatically decrease charging time when the battery is not exhausted before charging. Insertion of the SIM Card Metal interface of SIM card is very easy scrape.Before inserting into the phone you must carefully remove it. „ Turn off the phone; remove the battery and unplug other external power sources. „ Insert the SIM card into the SIM slot as shown in the following picture. „ When you need to remove the SIM card, please first turn off the phone, remove the battery, then remove the SIM card. 9 „ Insertion of the Memory Card „ Turn off the phone; remove the battery and unplug other external power sources. „ Put the Memory Card into the Memory Card trough. „ When you need to remove the Memory Card, please first turn off the phone, remove the battery, then remove the Memory Card. Tune UP 1 Adjustment of RF Output Power: (1) The equipment setup as shown in Figure 1. (2) Operation of PC adjusts equipment. (3) Use RF Engineering Tools at PC side. Select GSM850 Band: 1) Set GSM850 Band. 2) Set ARFCN: 190 3) TX ON. 4) Adjust the power to 32.4dBm (Power control level: PCL=5) by PA DAC value. 5) Repeat 4) for 15 times,and adjust the power level to 30.5, 28.8, 27, 25, 23, 21, 19, 17, 15, 13, 11, 9, 7, 5. 6) Make 16 Ramp-Up/Ramp-Down data from the adjustment value of (5) and (6). PC RF Tester GPIB Cable UART Cable RF Cable Test sample Figure 1 7) Data of 5) and 6) is writen to flash memory. Select PCS1900 Band: 1) Set PCS Band. 2) Set ARFCN: 661. 3) TX ON. 4) Adjust the power to 29.0 dBm (Power control level: PCL=0) by PA DAC value. 5) Repeat 4) for 15 times,and adjust the power level to 27.5, 26, 24, 22, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 0. 6) Make 16 Ramp-Up/Ramp-Down data from the adjustment value of (5) and (6). 7) Data of 5) and 6) is writen to flash memory. 2 Adjustment of oscillation frequency of VCXO: (1) The equipment setup as shown in Figure 1. (2) Use Crystal AFC Control Tools to Set CapID and AFC DAC value. (3) Set Band=GSM850,Set ARFCN=190,Set PCL=12. 1) Set AFC DAC=4096,fixed.(Check that Vafc=1.4V). 2) Set CapID=0, and verify that frequency error >>10KHz. 3) Set CapID=63, and verify that frequency error <<-10KHz. 4) If the above 3 items are verified, then change CapID value to make frequency error be closed to 0 Hz as possible, record this CapID value. 5) Set CapID value got from step 4), then change AFC DAC value to make frequency error be closed to 0 Hz as possible, record this AFC DAC value. 6) Download the CapID value and AFC DAC value to flash memory. 3 Adjustment of RX Sensitivity: (1) Select GSM850 Band: 1) Set BCCH level:-85dBm;ARFCN:128. 2) Test sample make a call to connect RF Tester.. 3) Set TCH level:-106dBm. 4) Measure BERII error at TCH ARFCN:128, 190,251. 5) Tuen up the RX matching cricuit to make sure BERII<2% at each ARFCN. (2) Select PCS Band: 1) Set BCCH level:-85dBm;ARFCN:512. 2) Test sample make a call to connect RF Tester.. 3) Set TCH level:-106dBm. 4) Measure BERII error at TCH ARFCN:512, 661, 810. 5) Tuen up the RX matching cricuit to make sure BERII<2% at each ARFCN.
