Application Range This document is the Product Technical Specification for the GM500-U1G_AGSM/WCDMA/LTE-FDD module. It defines the high level product features and illustrates the interface for these features. This document is intended to cover the hardware aspects of the product, including electrical and mechanical. B. Reading Note The symbols below are the reading notes you should pay attention on: : WARNING or ATTENTION : NOTE or REMARK C. Purpose This document provides the hardware solutions and development fundamentals for a product with the module. By reading this document, the user can have an overall knowledge of the module and a clear understanding of the technical parameters. With this document, the user can successfully fulfill the application and development of wireless Internet product or equipment. Besides the product features and technical parameters, this document also provides the product reliability tests and related testing standards, RF performance indexes and a guide on the design of user circuits, to provide the user with a complete design reference. NOTE: To ensure the module manufacturing and welding quality, do as the chapter 7 of Manufacturing Guide in this document. Manufacturers of the cellular terminal should send the following safety information to users and operating personnel and to incorporate these guidelines into all manuals supplied with the product. If not so, GOSUNCN does not take on any liability for customer failure to comply with these precautions. Full attention must be given to driving at all times in order to reduce the risk of an accident. Using a mobile while driving (even with a hands free kit) cause distraction and can lead to an accident. You must comply with laws and regulations restricting the use of wireless devices while driving. Switch off the cellular terminal or mobile before boarding an aircraft. Make sure it switched off. The operation of wireless appliances in an aircraft is forbidden to prevent interference with communication systems. Consult the airline staff about the use of wireless devices on boarding the aircraft, if your device offers a Airplane Mode which must be enabled prior to boarding an aircraft. Switch off your wireless device when in hospitals or clinics or other health care facilities. These requests are designed to prevent possible interference with sensitive medical equipment. GSM cellular terminals or mobiles operate over radio frequency signal and cellular network and cannot be guaranteed to connect in all conditions, for example no mobile fee or an invalid SIM card. While you are in this condition and need emergent help, please remember using emergency call. In order to make or receive call, the cellular terminal or mobile must be switched on and in a service area with adequate cellular signal strength. Your cellular terminal or mobile contains a transmitter and receiver. When it is on, it receives and transmits radio frequency energy. RF interference can occur if it is used close to TV set, radio, computer or other electric equipment. In locations with potentially explosive atmospheres, obey all posted signs to turn off wireless devices such as your phone or other cellular terminals. Areas with potentially explosive atmospheres including fuelling areas, below decks on boats, fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities, areas where the air contains chemicals or particles such as grain, dust or metal powders. The physical crystal and tuning capacitors may be located external to the shielded radio elements. The radio portion of this module is shielded, please see exhibition external photos. Y 2 The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs (if such inputs are provided) to ensure that the module will comply with Part 15 requirements under conditions of excessive data rates or over-modulation. The module has buffer modulation/data inputs. Y 3 The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation. The module has its own power supply regulation. Please see the schem.pdf Y 4 The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna and transmission system requirements of Sections 15.203, 15.204(b) and 15.204(c). The antenna must either be permanently attached or employ a “unique” antenna coupler (at all connections between the module and the antenna, including the cable). The “professional installation” provision of Section 15.203 is not applicable to modules but can apply to limited modular approvals under paragraph (b) of this section. The requirements of antenna connector and spurious emission have been fulfilled. Please refer to the Test Report exhibition. Y 5 The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration, i.e., the module must not be inside another device during testing for compliance with Part 15 requirements. Unless the transmitter module will be battery powered, it must comply with the AC line conducted requirements found in Section 15.207. AC or DC power lines and data input/output lines connected to the module must not contain ferrites, unless they will be marketed with the module (see Section 15.27(a)). Any accessories, peripherals, or support equipment connected to the module during testing shall be unmodified and commercially available (see Section 15.31(i)). 6 The modular transmitter must be equipped with either a permanently affixed label or must be capable of electronically displaying its FCC identification number. (A) If using a permanently affixed label, the modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC identification number, and, if the FCC identification number is not visible when the module is installed inside another device, then the outside of the device into which the module is installed must also display a label referring to the enclosed module. This exterior label can use wording such as the following: “Contains Transmitter Module FCC ID: XYZMODEL1” or “Contains FCC ID: XYZMODEL1.” Any similar wording that expresses the same meaning may be used. The Grantee may either provide such a label, an example of which must be included in the application for equipment authorization, or, must provide adequate instructions along with the module which explain this requirement. In the latter case, a copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. (B) If the modular transmitter uses an electronic display of the FCC identification number, the information must be readily accessible and visible on the modular transmitter or on the device in which it is installed. If the module is installed inside another device, then the outside of the device into which the module is installed must display a label referring to the enclosed module. This exterior label can use wording such as the following: “Contains FCC certified transmitter module(s).” Any similar wording that expresses the same meaning may be used. The user manual must include instructions on how to access the electronic display. A copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. The Module will be labeled with its own FCC ID, and the instruction on the labeling rule of the end product has been stated in the User Manual of this module. Please refer to the Label and User Manual exhibition. Y 7 The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rules or operating requirements that ordinarily apply to a complete transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. A copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization.
