Open the battery cover and insert four AAA batteries. Make sure the positive and negative ends are facing the correct polarity directions marked in the battery compartment. Close the battery cover and wait until the digits "0.0" are shown on the LED display. BATTERY REPLACEMENT: In the event that the scale batteries need to be replaced (display shows “Lo”),remove the battery cover.Replace the old batteries with 4 new AAA alkaline batteries. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation. Ensure the batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity,and the supply terminals are not to be short-circuited,then replace the battery cover again. Remove used batteries promptly. Dispose of the old batteries as per legal regulations. Do not attempt to open the scale or to remove any components. Servicing should be done by qualified technicians only.
