Users Manual

I. BATTERY INSTALLATION (Transmitter & Vehicle) 1. Install 1 9V battery with polarity (+/-) as shown inside battery compartment. Screwdriver not included. 2. Install 2 AA alkaline batteries with polarity (+/-) as shown inside battery compartment. ❶Steering Adjuster ❷ON/OFF Switch II. OPERATION Release antenna before operating. ❶FORWARD ❷REVERSE ❸LEFT TURN ❹RIGHT TURN III. BATTERY INFORMATION BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION • Insure that battery polarity is correct. • Use only batteries of the type recommended (or equivalent). • Do not mix old and new batteries. • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. • Remove used-up batteries immediately. • Remove batteries if vehicle will not be used for a long period. • Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. • Do not short-circuit terminals. • Remove rechargeable batteries before recharging (if the batteries are designed to be removable). • Recharge batteries only under adult supervision (if the batteries are designed to be removable). • Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batter- ies (or products containing non-replaceable batter- ies) in fire, as batteries may explode or leak. Battery Performance Note: For best performance use alkaline batteries (where disposable batteries are called for). If your vehicle is supplied with standard (carbon-zinc) batteries for ini- tial use and/or demonstration purposes, we recom- mend replacing them with alkaline batteries when nec- essary. Battery life may vary depending on battery brand. IV. QUICK TIPS ❶When your vehicle starts to lose power, it may lose functions or performance. It’s time for fresh batter- ies. Your vehicle’s running time may change depending on your driving style. ❷Radio interference can make your vehicle run badly. Interference can be caused by other R/C vehicles running on the same frequency; electrical wires; large buildings; or CB radios. Try to stay away from these! ❸Point your transmitter up - not down toward your vehicle. If your vehicle gets too far away, it won’t work properly. ❹Don’t drive your vehicle in sand or through water or snow. If your vehicle does get wet, wipe with a towel and allow to dry completely. ❺Don’t store your vehicle near heat or in direct sun- light. Always turn switches OFF and remove all bat- teries for storage. V. CONSUMER INFORMATION Note to Adults: To ensure that the child’s play is both safe and fun, please review all operating instructions and safety rules with your child. Safety Tips • NEVER drive your vehicle on streets! They’re for real cars! • DO NOT pick up vehicle while in motion. • Keep fingers, hair and loose clothing away from the tires and the wheel hubs while the vehicle is switched ON. • Adult supervision is recommended when this vehicle is being operated. • To avoid accidental operation, remove all batteries when not in use. INFORMATIONS AU SUJET DES PILES MISES EN GARDE AU SUJET DES PILES • Veiller à bien respecter le sens des polarités (+) et (-). • Utiliser uniquement les piles recommandées (ou équivalentes). • Ne pas mélanger des piles usées avec des piles neuves. • Ne pas mélanger des piles alcalines, standard (car- bone-zinc) ou rechargeables (nickel-cadmium). • Ne pas laisser des piles usées dans le produit. Retirer les piles si le jouet ne va pas être utilisé pen- dant longtemps. • Ne pas recharger des piles non rechargeables. • Ne pas court-circuiter les bornes des piles. • Retirer les piles du produit avant de les recharger (en cas de piles rechargeables). • Les piles ne doivent être chargées que par un adulte (en cas de piles rechargeables). • Jeter les piles dans un conteneur réservé à cet usage. Ne pas jeter les piles (ou les produits con- tenant des piles non remplaçables) au feu car les piles pourraient exploser ou fuir. Note au sujet des piles : Pour une meilleure performance, utiliser des piles alcalines (lorsque le véhicule fonctionne avec des piles remplaçables). Si des piles standard (carbon- zinc) sont fournies avec le véhicule pour permettre une utilisation immédiate et/ou tester le produit, il est recommandé de remplacer les piles par des piles alca- lines lorsque cela sera nécessaire. La durée des piles peut varier selon la marque des piles. IV. CONSEILS ❶Lorsque le véhicule commence à perdre de son énergie, il peut devenir moins performant et ne plus fonctionner normalement. Il est alors temps de remplacer les piles. La durée de jeu peut varier selon le style de conduite. ❷Une interférence radio peut empêcher le bon fonc- tionnement du véhicule. Une interférence peut être causée par d’autres véhicules fonctionnant sur la même fréquence, des fils électriques, des immeubles ou des radios CB. Essayer de les éviter. ❸Diriger l’émetteur vers le haut, et non pas vers le bas en direction du véhicule. Si le véhicule s’éloigne de trop, il ne fonctionnera pas correcte- ment. ❹Ne pas faire rouler le véhicule dans le sable, l’eau ou la neige. Si malgré tout le véhicule prenait l’eau, l’essuyer avec une serviette et attendre qu’il soit complètement sec avant de le réutiliser. ❺Ne pas ranger le véhicule près d’une source de chaleur ou en plein soleil. Toujours éteindre le jouet (OFF) et retirer toutes les piles avant de ranger. V. Operational Description

Fast Gear Chevy SSR 49.860 MHz Mattel Part # 91754 Transmitter FCC ID: APB91754-02A4T 03/26/02 FAST GEAR CHEVY SSR # 91754 49.860MHz TRANSMITTER OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION The Chevy SSR radio control transmitter is a low powered, hand held unit for controlling the movement of a toy car. The transmitter is powered by a 9 volt battery. It is designed to operate on a single fixed frequency in the 49.82-49.90 MHz band. See the attached block diagram and schematic. Input switches trigger an integrated circuit ( TX2 ) which produces the digital control signals which will modulate the carrier signal. The carrier signal is generated by a crystal oscillator/ amplifier circuit comprised of a crystal ( X1) and a npn transistor ( Q1 ). The RF carrier signal is modulated by the digital control signal at the base of an RF amplifier stage ( Q2 ). The modulated output of the RF amplifier stage is capacitively coupled ( via C7 ) to the antenna through a “ pi “matching network comprised of C8, T1 and C9. The whip antenna is 12 inches long and permanently attached. All tuning and verifications are performed by the manufacturer and there are no adjustments which can be made by the user. No external ground is required or used with this transmitter.
