Keep these instructions for future reference: they contain important information. 92141-0921 I. READY...SET...GO! 1. Unscrew vehicle battery door. 2. Insert 2 AA alkaline batteries with polarity as shown inside battery compartment. Replace battery door. 3. Push transmitter battery door open. 4. Insert 1 9V alkaline battery as shown. Replace battery door. 5. Turn vehicle switch ON. 6. Push either transmitter button to activate. II. OPERATION ❶ FORWARD ❷ REVERSE ❸ LEFT TURN ❹ RIGHT TURN ❺ TIGHT SPIN LEFT ❻ TIGHT SPIN RIGHT Your transmitter is also a cool display stand. Store your vehicle on it when you’re done playing. WARNING:Never allow young children to play in or around water without adult supervision. HYDRO RACER HYDRO RACER ™ ❶ On-Off Switch ❷ ❹❻❺ ❸ Antenna 6LR61 9 V d.c. III. QUICK TIPS ❶When your vehicle starts to lose power, it may lose func- tions or performance. It’s time for fresh batteries. Your vehi- cle’s running time may change depending on your driving style. ❷Radio interference can make your vehicle run badly. Interfer- ence can be caused by other R/C vehicles running on the same frequency; electrical wires; large buildings; or CB radios. Try to stay away from these! ❸ Point your transmitter antenna up - not down toward your vehicle. If your vehicle gets too far away, it won’t work proper- ly. DO NOT EXPOSE THE TRANSMITTER TO WATER. If the transmitter is accidentally exposed to water, remove the transmitter battery and allow the transmitter to air-dry. Replace with a fresh battery before resuming operation. ❹Your vehicle is designed for operation in calm, fresh water. Pools and shallow ponds are recommended. Do not expose vehicle to water unless the bat- tery compartment cover is prop- erly closed and latched. AVOID SALT WATER OPERATION. ❺Don’t store your vehicle near heat or in direct sunlight. Always turn switches OFF and remove all batteries for storage. After each use, remove any water or moisture from vehicle using a clean dry cloth. Note to Adults Adults, this toy is recommended for children 5 years of age and older. To ensure that the child’s play is both safe and fun, please review the operating instructions and these general safety rules with your child. Safety Tips • DO NOT pick up vehicle while in motion. • Keep fingers, hair and loose cloth- ing away from the propeller drive while the vehicle is switched ON. • Adult supervision is recommended when this vehicle is being operated. • To avoid accidental operation, remove all batteries when not in use. • Do not operate near swimmers. Stand away from the water’s edge when operating. IMPORTANT BATTERY INFORMATION "Insure that battery polarity is correct. "Use only batteries of the type recommended (or equivalent). "Do not mix old and new batter- ies. "Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. "Remove used-up batteries imme- diately. Remove batteries if vehi- cle will not be used for a long period. "For best performance use alka- line batteries (where disposable batteries are called for). Battery life may vary depending on bat- tery brand. "Do not recharge non-recharge- able batteries. "Do not short-circuit terminals. "Remove rechargeable batteries before recharging. Recharge batteries only under adult super- vision. "Dispose of batteries safely. ©2000 Mattel, Inc., Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054 U.S.A. PRINTED IN CHINA. Hydro Racer R/C 49.860 MHz Mattel Part # 92959 Transmitter FCC ID: APB92959 – 00A4T 12/1/2000 RC HYDRO RACER 49 MHZ TRANSMITTER OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION The Hydro Racer R/C transmitter is a low powered, hand held unit for controlling the movement of a toy boat. The transmitter is powered by a 9 volt battery. It is designed to operate on a single fixed frequency in the 49.82-49.90 MHz band. See the attached block diagram and schematic. Switch inputs trigger an integrated circuit ( TX2 ) which produces the digital control signals which will modulate the carrier signal. The carrier signal is generated by a crystal oscillator/ amplifier circuit comprised of a 49.860 MHz crystal ( X1 ) and a pnp transistor ( Q2 ). The RF carrier signal is modulated by the digital control signal at the base of an RF amplifier stage ( Q1 ). The modulated output of the RF amplifier stage is capacitively coupled ( via C6 ) to the antenna through a “ pi “ matching network comprised of C7, L4 and C8. The whip antenna is 12 inches long and permanently attached. All tuning and verifications are performed by the manufacturer and there are no adjustments which can be made by the user. No external ground is required or used with this transmitter.

TEST PROCEDURES AND TEST RESULTS RADIATED EMISSION TEST: ( 15.235 (a)) Test Procedure 1. The EUT was placed on a wooden table on the outdoor ground plane. The search antenna was placed 3 meter from the EUT. The EUT was placed in X,Y, and Z position to simulate the actual usage. 2. The turntable was slowly rotated to locate the direction of maximum emission at each EUT position. Once the maximum direction and EUT position was determined, the search antenna was raised and lowered in both vertical and horizontal polarization. The maximum reading so obtained is recorded in the data list below. Test Result: Peak emission was under average limit. Refer to attached plots.
