This portable transceiver is designed for use in the AMPS/DAMPS cellular telephone system. The mobile operates in the 800 MHz Domestic Public Cellular Radiotelephone Communications Services per Subpart H of Part 22 and also operates in the 1900 MHz Domestic Public Cellular Radiotelephone Communications Services, as per Part 24. When operating in the 1900 MHz range, DAMPS technology will be employed. It meets the requirements of IS-137A for operation in cellular systems. Documents governing DAMPS were used as a guide. This portable transceiver is quite similar to previously certified FCC ID: AXATR-393-A2. Measurements and calculations for SAR have been made on this radio. This unit complies with IEEE C95.1-1991 (ANSI/IEEE C95.1-1992). 5 Guidelines for Safe and Efficient Use ‡ Do not allow children to play with your phone. They could hurt themselves or others, or could accidentally damage the phone. Your phone may contain small parts that could be detached and create a choking hazard. ‡ Do not expose your mobile phone to moisture or extreme temperatures. ‡ Only Ericsson original accessories are recommended. Failure to use them may result in loss of performance or product damage, and will void the warranty. ‡ Do not attempt to disassemble the product. Doing so will void warranty. This product does not contain consumer serviceable components. Service should only be performed by Authorized Service Centers. ‡ Do not allow objects to fall on, or liquids to spill on products. ‡ Connect AC (power supply) only to designated power sources as marked on the product. ‡ To reduce risk of damage, remove the electrical cord from the outlet by pulling the AC adapter at the outlet rather than the cord. ‡ Make sure the electric cord is located so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to damage or stress. ‡ To reduce risk of electric shock, unplug the unit from the power source before attempting any cleaning. Once unplugged, use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water for cleaning. ‡ DANGER – Never alter the AC cord or plug. If the plug will not fit into the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. Improper connection can result in risk of electric shock. ‡ Don ’ t twist the antenna. Excess twisting will damage the antenna. ‡ Before a phone model is available for sale to the public, it must be tested and certified to the FCC that it does not exceed the limit established by the government-adopted requirement for safe exposure. The tests are performed in positions and locations (i.e., at the ear and worn on the body) as required by the FCC for each model. Body worn measurements are made while the phone is in use and worn on the body with an Ericsson accessory. The design and composition of an accessory can affect the body worn Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) levels for the phone. Ericsson has not measured, and makes no representation about the body worn SAR levels when the phone is used with non-Ericsson accessories. Battery Information New BatteriesThe battery packaged with your phone is not fully charged. For maximum battery capacity, use your charger to condition the battery. Test equipment 3.1 Dosimetric system SAR measurements were made using two DASY3 professional systems (software version 3.1c), manufactured by Schmid & Partner Engineering AG and installed in February 1998, and November 2000. The total SAR assessment uncertainty (K = 1) of the system is ±16% and includes a +15% offset (overestimation). The extended uncertainty (K = 2) is ±32% with a +15% offset. The measurements are made by using calibrated antennas and equipment with known cable losses. (2) A maximized measurement is made by raising and lowering the measurement antenna and rotating the EUT 360 degrees. Horizontal and vertical polarization data is recorded as reference. (3) A generator, an amplifier, and a half-wave dipole antenna are then substituted for the EUT. (4) Data obtained with known power levels into the substitution antenna are then compared to the reference reading. The EDRP of the product is calculated.
