VeriFone, Inc. 2099 Gateway Place, Suite 600 San Jose, CA 95110 USA April 21, 2006 Vx670 User Manual Clarifications Vx670 User Manual is adopting the standard VeriFone’s user manual for payment terminal, which includes many communication variants such as GPRS, CDMA and WLAN. However, CDMA variant will not be equipped for Vx670 and only GPRS and WLAN terminals will be embedded in this version of manual. Co- transmission between WLAN and GPRS will not happen. Vx670 will be sold to B2B market, where we will fully support our customers for the installations and instructions. In addition, our customers are very familiar of what application is embedded in the device, and which can also be clearly distinguished by the product label on the bottom of the device. For WLAN device, the product number is M267-510-XX-XXX with the MAC number printed on the label. For GPRS, the product number is M267-530-XX-XXX with the IMEI number printed on the label. Different communication variants will have different FCC IDs though they use the same users manual. Should you have any questions or comments regarding this matter, please have my best attention. Sincerely yours, Contact Person: Fanny Wong VeriFone, Inc. Tel: 1-408-802-6252 Fax: 1-408-232-7811 E-Mail: [email protected]

American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 April 26, 2006 RE: VeriFone Inc. FCC ID: B32VX670GPRS I have a few comments on this Application. Depending on your responses, kindly understand there may be additional comments. 1.) The Manual appears to indicate that this device will have a WLAN module installed, but no WLAN information is presented on Form 731, and no WLAN exhibits are filed. Does this Point Of Sale terminal have a WLAN device? 2.) Is the WLAN and Part 22/24 transceiver capable of simultaneous transmission? Should this device go to FCC? 3.) If simultaneous transmission (co-located transmitters) is applicable, then the Manual statements prohibiting co-location must be removed. 4.) This device appears capable of connecting to a computer via a USB cable? Will a Class B certification or a DofC apply? If DofC is the desired equipment authorization, then you are reminded of the labeling requirements described in Part 2 and 15 in the FCC rules. 5.) Will this device be sold in Canada? If so, then an application for approval in Canada is required. William H. Graff President and Director of Engineering mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued.
