Then click to dim or brighten Lamp or Wall Switch Modules. 1. Set the TM751 Transceiver to Housecode A. Plug a lamp or appliance into the TM751. Plug the TM751 into an AC outlet (use one near your PC for now). 2. Download the X10 PalmPad software from: www.x10.com/software. 3. Install the software as per its instructions. At the appropriate point you will be instructed to plug in the CM19A. 4. Plug the CM19A into your computer’s USB port. 5. Follow the instructions to complete the installation. 6. Run the X10 PalmPad application. A picture of an X10 PalmPad remote appears on your computer monitor. Use the on-screen remote control just like a regular remote control: Click on 1 to test the Transceiver. For more information right-click the PalmPad to access the extensive on-line help. You can also print labels from here to match those on the on-screen PalmPad remote and place them on a physical PalmPad (sold separately). You can also turn on or off sound effects that occur when you press buttons. Persons with physical disabilities who have software that can access their keyboard can simply “type” A 1 ON, for example, to turn on any X10 Module or wireless camera. The Transceiver then passes the signals onto your house wiring to control lights, appliances, and/or X10 wireless cameras around your home. You plug lights and appliances into X10 Modules (sold separately). The CM19A is also a wireless receiver so you can tell your PC, from any X10 remote control, what cameras you want it to control. Deficiencies were discovered during the certification process. The noted deficiencies were addressed in correspondence between the appropriate test facilities and Elite Electronic Engineering. The correspondence is indicated below. Questions from Elite dated May 29 and June 5, 2001. 1. Exhibit D Users Manual. The users manual contains the following statement “ FCC Approved ”. CM19A description 310 MHz transmissions are received via the superregenerative receiver, demodulated, and passed to the microprocessor, which passes the commands via USB to software running in a PC. The PC software allows the user to click a button on a picture of a remote control on the computer screen to send a command. These commands are passed via USB to the microprocessor which passes them to the 310 Mhz modulator for RF transmission at 310 MHz.

The analyzer was set for a frequency span of 0Hz. The sweep time was then adjusted in order to display one full pulse train. The transmitter on time was then summed and compared to the time for one full cycle in order to obtain the duty cycle.( See plots for additional information) Transmitter On Time=31.125 milliseconds (maximum- worst case in 100 ms) Transmitter Cycle Time=94.5 Transmitter Duty Cycle=32.9 % CALCULATION: 1 Large Pulse = 10.5 milliseconds 33 x 625 μs (small pulse)= 20.625 milliseconds 10.5 + 20.625= 32.9 milliseconds Duty Cycle=32.9 % Correction Factor = 20 log(0.248) =-9.6 SPECTRUM ANALYZER DESENSITIZATION CONSIDERATIONS Due to the nature of the emissions being measured, care was taken to ensure that the resolution bandwidth of the spectrum analyzer was adequate to provide accurate measurements. The following formula was utilized: Setting pulse desensitization equal to zero and utilizing the minimum observed pulse width of 20μs yields a minimum required bandwidth of 33.3 kHz. FCC specified bandwidths of 100kHz and 1MHz were utilized below and above 1GHz, respectively.
