You will hear a beep, then the LED will begin to flash slowly. This is the Simple Setup mode. To set the first FOFA, press Insert a battery into the second FOFA in the same manner as the first. To set the second FOFA, press Your FOFA’s are now programmed as Items 1 & 2. That’s it! Attach your FOFA’s to anything you want to keep track of. Operational Description

FXD-27 Operational Description: The FXD-27 device is a 433.8 MHz remote control locator pulsed transmitter and a UHF amplitude-shift-keying (ASK) modulation, single chip receiver. The transmitter is used as a Key finder and remote control locator. The short name is FOFA (find one find all). It sends signals to programmed devices in order to find their locations. The receiver is used to decode RF transmissions from other remote controls and stores the information to be used to find their locations.

The analyzer was set for a frequency span of 0 Hz. The sweep time was then adjusted in order to display one full pulse train. The transmitter on time was then summed and compared to the time for one full cycle in order to obtain the duty cycle. (See plots for additional information.) Transmitter On Time =62.7 milliseconds (maximum per cycle) Transmitter Cycle Time = 117.0 milliseconds (100 ms maximum) Transmitter Duty Cycle =62.7 % Calculation 1 Large Pulse =1.14 milliseconds 55.0 x 1.14 =62.7 milliseconds Duty Cycle ( 62.7 /100)*100 = 0.627 % Correction Factor =20 log (0.627)=-4.0 dB Retlif Testing Laboratories, Test Report R-11989-1, X10 (USA), Inc., FCC ID: B4SFXD-27 Page 4 of 22 Spectrum Analyzer Desensitization Considerations Due to the nature of the emissions being measured, care was taken to ensure that the resolution bandwidth of the spectrum analyzer was adequate to provide accurate measurements. The following formula was utilized: minimum bandwidth = 1/{minimum pulse width (in seconds) x 1.5} = Hz Setting pulse desensitization equal to zero and utilizing the minimum observed pulse width of 1.14 m yields a minimum required bandwidth of 584.8 Hz. FCC specified bandwidths of 100 kHz and 1 MHz were utilized below and above 1 GHz, respectively. General Notes 1. All readings were taken utilizing a peak detector function at a test distance of 3 meters. 2. The duty cycle was applied to the peak readings in order to determine the average value of the emissions. 3. The frequency range was scanned from 30 MHz to 4.34 GHz. All emissions not reported were more than 20 dB below the specified limit. 4. The Receiver was tested per “ANSI STANDARD C63.4-2003 12.1.1.2. The receiver was programmed for normal receiver mode. Normal mode is defined as the unit energized continuously for 10 ms, then off for 2.4 seconds.
