Quick Start Guide Printed in China Part No. 480-667-P Version B Thank you for purchasing Cobra iRadar ™ , the world’s first connected radar/laser/red light camera detector. Cobra iRadar uses Bluetooth ® wireless technology to connect your iPhone ® /iPod touch ® to display radar alerts and change settings. Follow these simple steps to get your Cobra iRadar up and running. Cobra iRadar is made for: iPod touch (3rd Generation) iPhone 3GS iPhone 3G. NOTE: *Location-based alerts and GPS settings available only with iPhone. Only radar/laser alerts and settings will work with iPod touch 3rd generation or higher. Connecting with Cobra iRadar Plug in your Cobra iRadar detector unit using the included cigarette lighter adapter. Turn unit on. A red LED will light. On your iPhone/iPod touch, enter the Settings menu. Press General, then Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is switched to ON. NOTE: This device complies with part 15 of FCC rules: Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received including interference that may cause undesired operation. CAUTION: Modifications or parts not approved by Cobra Electronics Corporation may violate FCC Rules and void authority to operate this equipment. iRadar 100 should appear under Devices. Note: Your iPhone/iPod touch may take 30 seconds to one minute to recognize the device. It will initially appear as “Headset” and will then turn into iRADAR 100. If you cannot see the device, try restarting both iRadar and your iPhone/iPod touch and re-do steps 1 through 5. Press iRADAR 100, then press Pair. The LED on the detector unit will flash blue. When pairing has been completed, it will turn solid blue. Press Yes to install Cobra iRadar application from the App Store. If you already have the Cobra iRadar App, you can press NO. Now open the App and enjoy using iRadar! Cobra iRadar App Dashboard Display speedometer, compass and car battery voltage. View Map* View user-marked locations, red light camera locations in your area and GPS-based speed & direction of travel. Settings Configure your Cobra iRadar settings. Note: All radar/laser/red light camera detector settings will be inactive if you are not paired with Cobra iRadar or are out of range. To download the App manually, enter the App Store on your iPhone/iPod touch and search for “Cobra iRadar” and follow the onscreen instructions. To Whom It May Concern: We, the Cobra Electronics Corporation, hereby request a Limited Module Approval as provided in Section 15.212 of the FCC Rules. The requirements of this section have been fulfilled as follows: 15.212(a)(1)(i); Requirement of RF Shielding: The module meets the radiated emissions limits of sections 15.209 and 15.249 of the FCC Rules with out shielding. 15.212(a)(1)(ii); Requirement of Buffered Input: The module does not provide a direct data input to the modulator. 15.212(a)(1)(iii); Requirement of Power Supply Regulation: The module incorporates its own regulators, which are denoted as U2303 in the documentation. 15.212(a)(1)(iv); Antenna Requirement: The module incorporates a permanently attached antenna. 15.212(a)(1)(v); Stand-Alone Test Configuration: The module was tested in a standalone test configuration as described in the test report. 15.212(a)(1)(vi)(A); Labeling Requirement: The module will be labeled with its own FCC identification number, and the device into which the module is installed will display a label referring to the enclosed module. A picture of the external label is included with the documentation. 15.212(a)(1)(vii); Operating Requirements: The module meets the specific rules for this type of transceiver, and the User’s Manual contains instructions for maintaining compliance. The analyzer was calibrated in dB above a microvolt at the output of the antenna. The resolution bandwidth was 100 kHz with an appropriate sweep speed and the video bandwidth was 300 kHz up to 1 GHz and 1 MHz with a video BW of 3 MHz above 1 GHz. When an emission was found, the table was rotated to produce the maximum signal strength. The antenna was placed in both the horizontal and vertical planes and the worse case emissions were reported.
