Safety and handling Draw with Apple Pencil on iPad as if you’re drawing with a pencil on paper. Don’t use Apple Pencil on any surface other than iPad. Keep the tip of Apple Pencil clean, as dirt and other small particles may cause excessive wear to the tip or damage the iPad screen. With use, the tip of Apple Pencil will wear down, and you’ll need to replace it to avoid damaging the iPad screen. Apple Pencil may present a choking hazard or cause other injury to small children. Keep Apple Pencil away from small children. Handle Apple Pencil with care. Apple Pencil contains sensitive electronic components, including a battery, and can be damaged or cause injury if dropped, burned, bent, crushed, or if it comes in contact with liquid. Don’t use a damaged Apple Pencil. Bluetooth® To turn off Bluetooth on Apple Pencil as well as on your iPad, attach Apple Pencil to the magnetic side of the iPad, swipe down from the upper-right corner of any screen to open Control Center, then tap . Bluetooth must be on to pair and use Apple Pencil. Battery Don’t attempt to replace the Apple Pencil battery yourself—you may damage the battery, which could cause overheating and injury. The lithium-ion battery in your Apple Pencil should be serviced or recycled by Apple or an authorized service provider, and disposed of separately from household waste. For information about Apple lithium-ion batteries, go to apple.com/batteries. Medical device interference Apple Pencil contains magnets and/ or components and radios that may interfere with medical devices. See important safety information for Apple Pencil in the iPad User Guide at support.apple.com/guide/ipad. Cleaning To clean the outside of Apple Pencil, use a lint-free cloth. Don’t get moisture in any openings or use aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasives. Ergonomics When using Apple Pencil, it’s important to find a comfortable posture, change your position often, and take frequent breaks. Support For support and troubleshooting information, user discussion boards, and the latest Apple software downloads, go to apple.com/support. Regulatory Regulatory information, certification, and compliance marks specific to Apple Pencil are available on iPad. Go to Settings > Apple Pencil > Regulatory. Alternatively, to view regulatory compliance marks on the inner surface of Apple Pencil, unscrew the tip. The SAR systems (including SAR probes, system components and software versions) used for this device were validated against its performance specifications prior to the SAR measurements. Reference dipoles were used with the required tissue- equivalent media for system validation, according to the procedures outlined in FCC KDB Publication 865664 D01v01r04. Since SAR probe calibrations are frequency dependent, each probe calibration point was validated at a frequency within the valid frequency range of the probe calibration point, using the system that normally operates with the probe for routine SAR measurements and according to the required tissue-equivalent media. A tabulated summary of the system validation status including the validation date(s), measurement frequencies, SAR probes and tissue dielectric parameters has been included. Table E-1 SAR System Validation Sum…
