The EUT was composed of two parts: one is the handset which measures 9” L x 2.125” W x 1.675” H, the other is the base which measures 7” L x 5.5” W x 2.25” H. 1.2 Objective This type approval report is prepared on behalf of LG Electronics Inc., in accordance with Part 2, Subpart J, Part 15, Subparts A and B of the Federal Communication Commissions rules. The objective of the manufacturer is to demonstrate compliance with FCC rules for Output Power, 6 dB Bandwidth, Power Density, Band Edge, Spurious Emission, Processing Gain, Antenna Gain, and Conducted and Radiated Emission. 1.3 Related Submittal(s)/Grant(s) No Related Submittals 1.4 Test Methodology All measurements contained in this report were conducted with ANSI C63.4 –1992, American National Standard for Methods of Measurement of Radio-Noise Emissions from Low-Voltage Electrical and Electronic Equipment in the range of 9 kHz to 40 GHz. All radiated and conducted emissions measurement was performed at Bay Area Compliance Laboratory, Corp. The radiated testing was performed at an antenna-to-EUT distance of 3 meters. May 9, 2001 Federal Communications Commission 7435 Oakland Mills Road – Gate A Columbia, Maryland 21046 Subject: 6dB for Both Resolution and Video Bandwidth for the Conducted Output Power Measurement To Whom It May Concern: We used the 1 MHz for both resolution and video bandwidth for the conducted output power measurements when we tested LG’s product GT-8310C. I understood that the ET Docket No.96-0 is using the number from 6 dB bandwidth of the spread spectrum. I also went to the FCC database and found out a lot of applications using 1 MHz resolution, such as, FCC ID: DNY160995, FCC ID: J5XTPASSTX, and FCC ID: OWS-900. Some granted FCC ID even didn't have the conducted output power measurement, for example, FCC ID: HOLCL980CR, BW3DB-8214, and BW3DB-8225. I gave out these examples only for reference. Due to the fact, we have difficulty to re-measure the product. Could this case be treated as an exception? We will use 6dB bandwidth for the resolution for all further tests. Cordless phone handsets and other transmitters that are carried next to the body of the user or operate at distances closer than approximately 5 cm to the body of users or nearby persons. >0.3Wat 915 MHz or >0.2Wat 2450 MHz Generally at above 300 mW EIRP (200 mW at 2450 MHz), the potential for exceeding MPE and/or SAR limits is dependent on the design of the antenna and device operating conditions. Warning instructions and warning labels may be used to limit the exposure durations and/or conditions to ensure compliance. However, if manufacturers believe that such warning instructions and labels will not be effective in keeping persons at the specified distances necessary to ensure compliance, it may be necessary to demonstrate compliance with respect to SAR limits; especially when the output is greater than 400-500 mW EIRP. 16 The applicable methods for ensuring compliance are divided into transmitter groups according to their output power levels. 17 The EIRP indicated in the above table is the product of the maximum output power available at the antenna terminal of the transmitter, the gain of the antenna and the applicable duty factor described in this section. It is important that the normal usage conditions for the particular transmitter/antenna must be defined in order for the above procedures to be applicable. 22 Antenna Gain and EIRP Antenna Gain was zero under this report. The harmonics and other signals must be at least 20 dB less than the highest emissions level within the operation band. 3.5.1 Test Procedure The RF output of the transceiver was connected to a spectrum analyzer through appropriate attenuation. The resolution bandwidth of the spectrum analyzer was set at 100 kHz.
