Align the groove in the battery pack with the rail on the back of the phone until the battery pack rests flush with the back of the phone. 2) Slide the battery pack forward until you hear a “click”, which locks the battery in place. 1) Plug the charger into a wall outlet. The charger can be operated from either a 110V or a 220V source. When AC power is connected to the traveler charger, both the green and red LED’s blink once. 2) Insert the jack of Traveler charger to the bottom of handset or a spare battery pack into the individual battery pack slot. Red light indicates battery is being charged.. Green light indicates battry is fully charged. WARNING! Read this information before operating the phone. In August 1996, the Federal Communications (FCC) of the United States, with its action in Report and Order FCC 96-326, adopted an updated safety standard for human exposure to radio frequency(RF) electromagnetic energy emitted by FCC regulated transmitters. Those guidelines are consistent with the safety standard previously set by both U.S. and international standards bodies. The design of this phone complies with the FCC guidelines and these international standards. CAUTION Use only the supplied and approved antenna. Use of unauthorized antennas or modifications could impair call quality, damage the phone, void your warranty and/or result in violation of FCC regulations. Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna. If a damaged antenna comes into contact with skin, a minor burn may result. Contact your local dealer for a replacement of antenna. Body Worn Operation This device was tested for typical body-worn operations with the back of the phone kept 1.5 cm from the body. To comply with FCC RF exposure requirements, a minimum separation distance of 1.5 cm must be maintained between the user’s body and the back of the phone, including the antenna, whether extended or retracted. Third-party belt- clips, holsters, and similar accessories containing metallic components should not be used. Body-worn accessories that cannot maintain 1.5 cm separation distance between the user’s body and the back of the phone, and have not been tested for typical body- worn operations may not comply with FCC RF exposure limits and should be avoided. For Your Safety FCC Part 15 Class B Compliance

Difference between conducted RF Power(28.6dBm) and SAR report(24dBm) is as the following. The following: 1.Conduted RF Power(28.6dBm) is measured maximum value under Peak Mode and Max Hold of SA. 2.SAR report(24dBm) is measured maximum value under digital average power of Call simulator(E5515C) or Power Meter(E4419B). So I think that conducted RF Power(28.6dBm) and SAR(24dBm) is same value. I send re-test result you so that I prevent confusion about differenc between conducted RF Power and Power of SAR repoert, The retest result is following appendix file. INTRODUCTION The FCC has adopted the guidelines for evaluating the environmental effects of radio frequency radiation in ET Docket 93-62 on Aug. 6, 1996 to protect the public and workers from the potential hazards of RF emissions due to FCC-regulated portable device.[1] The safety limits used for the environmental evaluation measurements are based on the criteria published by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) For localized specific absorption rate (SAR) in IEEE/ANSI C95.1-1992 Standard for safety Levels with Respect to Human Exposure to Radio Frequency Electronic Fields, 3 kHz to 300 GHz. (c) 1992 by the institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., New York, New York 10017.[2] The measurement procedure described in IEEE/ANSIC95.3-1992 Recommended Practice for the Measurement of Potentially Hazardous Electromagnetic Fields – RF and Microwave[3] is used for guidance in measuring SAR due to the RF radiation exposure from the Equipment Under Test (EUT). These criteria for SAR evaluation are similar to those recommended by the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) in Biological Effects and Exposure Criteria for Radio Frequency Electromagnetic Fields,” NCRP Report No. 86 (c) NCRP, 1986, Bethesda, MD20814.[6] SAR is a measure of the rate of energy absorption due to exposure to an RF transmitting source. SAR values have been related to threshold levels for potential biological hazards. SAR Definition Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is defined as the time derivative (rate) of the incremental energy (dU) absorbed by (dissipated in) an incremental mass (dm) contained in a volume element (dV) of a given density (). it is also defined as the rate of rf energy absorption per unit mass at a point in an absorbing body (see Fig. 3.1.). Figure 2.1 SAR Mathematical Equation SAR is expressed in units of Watts per Kilogram (W/kg). SAR = E / Where: = conductivity of the tissue-simulant material (S/m) E = mass density of the tissue-simulant material (kg/) = Total RMS electric field strength (V/m) SAR Measurement Report Test Date : Nov 18~19, 2003 FCC ID : BEJHD8280 Test Report No: LGE-SAR2003007 LG ELECTRONICS INC.
