5800MINIV Single-Zone Door/Window Sensor Installation & Setup Guide FEATURES The 5800MINIV is a single-zone, wireless door/window sensor with a cover and wall tamper. It is intended for use with Control Panels that support 5800 series devices The sensor consists of two primary components: a transmitter assembly and a magnet assembly. •Compatible with alarm systems that support 5800 series wireless devices. •Built-in serial number which must be enrolled into the Control Panel. •Refer to the Control Panel installation instructions for programming details. Mini 005_cover-01 MOUNTING •Choose a mounting location where the transmitter is stationary, and the magnet is mounted to the moving part of the door or window. •Verify adequate signal strength by using the Control Panel Go/No Go test (see Control Panel instructions) before mounting permanently. •Avoid mounting in areas where the device will be exposed to moisture or where the operating temperature of 32 to 120ºF (0 to 50ºC) will be exceeded. •Keep the transmitter and magnet away from metal or metallic surfaces such as foil wallpaper. •Avoid mounting the device in areas with a large quantity of metal or electrical wiring, such as a furnace or utility room. 1.Separate the transmitter front cover from the rear mounting plate. Note: The magnet can be mounted on either the left or right side of the transmitter; however, for proper operation, the grooved lines in transmitter front cover and the magnet front cover must be aligned with each other. 2.Mount the rear mounting plate to a stationary surface and secure with the supplied double-faced adhesive tape and/or the three screws (provided). 3.Mount the magnet to the moveable surface (with the proper magnet gap adjustment) and secure with supplied double-faced adhesive tape and/or the two screws (provided). Note: See the Specifications section for the magnet mounting gap settings. 4.If necessary, install the battery (with “+” side up) or pull out the battery tab. 5.Replace the front cover. PROGRAMMING Refer to the Control Panel installation instructions for programming and enrolling the device. 1.Enter Programming mode at the Control Panel. 2.Assign a zone number to loop 1 and assign as Input Type 3 (Supervised RF). 3.To enroll the serial number, activate the transmitter by moving the magnet close to and away from the transmitter two times. 4.Alternatively, enter the device serial number manually when prompted. BATTERY REPLACEMENT 1.Separate the transmitter front cover from the rear mounting plate. 2.Remove battery, wait 10 seconds, and then insert a new battery (with “+” side up). Note: See the Specifications section for recommended replacement batteries. 3.Replace the front cover. BATTERY CAUTION: Risk of fire, explosion, and burns. Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 212°F (100°C), or incinerate. Dispose of used batteries properly. Keep away from children. Note: Constant exposure to high or low temperature or high humidity may reduce battery life. SPECIFICATIONS Dimensions:Transmitter: 0.45”H x 1.25”W x 2.44”L (11.5mm H d x 32mm W x 62mm L) Magnet: 0.38”H x 0.41”W x 1.49”L (9.5mm H x 10.5mm W x 37.9mm L) Operating Conditions: 32°F (0°C) to 120°F (50°C) Relative Humidity 95%, (non-condensing); UL Tested at 85% RF Frequency: 345 MHz Tamper Cover and Wall Magnet Gap Maximum Mounting Gap •Wood Surfaces: 1.15" (29.2mm) •Metal Surfaces: 0.5" (13.2mm) Battery 1 x 3VDC Coin Cell Resideo BL3-0004 (CR2450); Duracell DL2450; Panasonic CR2450; Energizer CR2450 (Use of another battery may present the risk of fire or explosion) FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION STATEMENTS The user shall not make any changes or modifications to the equipment unless authorized by the Installation Instructions or User Manual.
