Model WTS800 Wireless Touchscreen Installation and Setup Guide GENERAL INFORMATION The WTS800 is a wireless touchscreen that allows you to perform system arming and disarming functions, as well as monitoring the status of your security system. The Touchscreen is used in conjunction with the ADT2X16AIO and ADT7AIO Control Panels. Up to a total of eight (8) Touchscreens can be used on the system. • The Touchscreen must be enrolled in the Control Panel before it can be used. • The WTS800 requires Control Panel Firmware Version 4.9 or later. 1 Microphone 2 Camera 3 LED Status 4 Battery Charge LED STATUS INDICATIONS LED Function Red System Armed Red - Flashing Alarm condition or in Programming mode Amber System trouble Amber - Flashing Device trouble • System cannot be armed Green Ready to Arm Green - Flashing Device trouble • System can be armed Off Not ready to Arm OPERATING THE TOUCHSCREEN For operating instructions, see the User Guide for the Control Panel being used with this Touchscreen. MOUNTING THE TOUCHSCREEN 1. From the bottom of the Touchscreen, remove screw [A] that secures the front cover assembly [B] to the rear mounting plate [C]. Note: It is important to remove the front cover assembly from the rear mounting plate and not inadvertently remove the LCD panel from the front cover assembly. See the illustration to identify the slots to access with the screwdriver. 2. Using a screwdriver in the proper slots, carefully pry the front cover assembly [B] from the rear mounting plate [C]. 3. Select a desired location to mount the wireless Touchscreen. To prevent heat damage to the Touchscreen and reduce glare and eye strain, it is recommended to mount the touchscreen out of direct sunlight and at a proper height for optimal viewing. 4. Refer to the Wire Table to determine the proper gauge and length of the wires to use for your installation. 5. Carefully route the wires through the opening in the rear mounting plate [C] and while observing proper polarity, connect the wires to the + and - terminals [D] on the printed circuit board [E]. While observing polarity, connect the unattached end of the wires to the Power Supply [F]. 7. Mount the rear mounting plate [C] directly on a wall or secured to an electrical junction box (single or double width) as follows: Note: The tamper breakout portion of the rear mounting plate MUST be secured to a stud, solid wood, or with a robust wall anchor. ( * = tamper screw locations). • For wall mounting, while observing the bubble in the green level display [G], ensure the rear mounting plate is level and secure it to the wall with four screws [H]. • For junction box mounting, secure the rear mounting plate to the junction box with either two screws [I] (single width box) or four screws [H] (double width box). 8. Insert the battery pack [J] into the slot on the back of the front case assembly [B] and snap it in to secure in place. 9. Secure the battery wires in the retainer clip [K] and plug the wire connector [L] into the receptacle [M] on the printed circuit board [E]. 10. Being careful not to damage the wires, align the tabs on the top of the front case assembly [B] with the slots on the rear mounting plate [C] and snap the two pieces together. Secure with locking screw [A]. 11. Plug the Power Supply [F] into a non-switchable 110VAC, 60Hz outlet. After a few seconds, the splash screen comes on, followed by a steady green LED light to indicate power is applied. Allow 24 hours for the battery to become fully charged. BATTERY PACK REPLACEMENT Replace the battery pack as follows: 1. From the bottom of the Touchscreen, remove screw [A] that secures the front cover assembly [B] to the rear mounting plate [C]. Note: It is important to remove the front cover assembly from the rear mounting plate and not inadvertently remove the LCD panel from the front cover. See the illustration to identify the slots to access with the screwdriver. 2. Using a screwdriver in the proper slots, carefully pry the front cover [B] from the rear mounting plate [C]. 3. Disconnect the battery wire connector [L] from the receptacle [M] on the printed circuit board [E]. 4. Remove the battery pack. 5. Insert the replacement battery pack [J] into the slot on the back of the front case assembly [B] and snap it in to secure in place. 6. Secure the battery wires in the retainer clip [K] and plug the wire connector [L] into the receptacle [M] on the printed circuit board [E]. 7. Being careful not to damage the wires, align the tabs on the top of the front case assembly [B] with the slots on the rear mounting plate [C] and snap the two pieces together. Secure with locking screw [A]. CAUTION: Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions ENROLLING THE TOUCHSCREEN The Touchscreen must be enrolled in the Control Panel before it can be used. The Touchscreen communicates directly to the Control Panel via the ADTZWM series Wi-Fi module; and does not require a network router. Enroll the Touchscreen as follows: 1. After powering up the Touchscreen, it will display "Starting Up, Please Standby" and then enters the Pairing Mode. 2. Use the Alarm.com MobileTech tool and select "Add as Peripheral". 3. When the Control Panel is in the "Learn Mode", select "Pair" on the Touchscreen and it will attempt to pair with the Control Panel. 4. If it is not paired during power up, it continues to display "Starting Up, Please Standby". From the "Pairing Menu", select "Pair". • After successful pairing, it will display the home screen with status of the Control Panel. • If pairing is unsuccessful, press Cancel, move the Touchscreen closer to the Control Panel, ensure that no other Wi-Fi devices are in WPS mode, and then restart the pairing process.
