production documentation iQ RF Controller User Manual Status: Draft Date 05/26/2020 1. Introduction: iQ RF Controller board is designed for Osram internal use only. To explain further, this RF controller board can be integrated into any Osram end products such as LED Lamp, Power Supply for LED, Electronic Ballast or Luminaires. However, this RF Controller board is NOT meant to be sold to third parties. Specification of this RF Controller board is presented in Table1. Warning Changes or modifications not expressly approved by R&D Director of Osram could void the user’s authority to operate this equipment. This is due to FCC or IC requirements. 3. Federal Communication Commission Interference Statement This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one of the following measures: − Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. − Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. − Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. − Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. The overall dimension of the module is 12.9mm (width) x 23.00mm (length). The PCB Trace Antenna occupies about 6.00mm along the orientation of length. Having label in this area is prohibited due to impact on antenna performance. Hence, effective overall dimension of the module that can be used for placing label is 12.9mm (width) x 17.00mm (length). This information is provided in various documents such as Technical_Description_Ver1.pdf. Module is smaller than palm of the hand and hence it is not possible to have compliance statement. However, such statement is placed in user manual of the module (User_Manual_Ver1.pdf – section 5 and section6). Regarding label on the module itself, the word FCC ID: DZO-OSREFRMG21P in font size 4 takes up about 19mm. The module’s effective size is 17mm in length and width is only 12.9mm. The EUT is iQ RF Controller (Model: OSREFRMG21P). This is a radio that can support dual protocols i.e., Zigbee and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Zigbee operates in the 2405 – 2480MHz frequency. BLE radio operates in the 2402 – 2480MHz frequency range with DTS equipment code. Client declares that time division multiplexing is used between the Zigbee and BLE functions of the device. Therefore there’s no simultaneous transmission capability between Zigbee and BLE. This module is to be used within OSRAM products i.e., not authorized to be sold to third parties. The approved module will be used in several lighting products of OSRAM. Antenna: Internal PCB trace antenna with max 0.2dBi gain. We found that the product met the above requirements without modification. Test samples were received in good condition.
