American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 September 22, 2006 RE: FCC ID: E4E6CYSIDV6800306_ATCB004046 Attention: Yoshiko Mizuta I have a few comments on this Application. Please note that further comments may arise in response to answers provided to the questions below. 1. Please note that the device appears to have a standard BNC connector. If this is for the antenna or if it is for an external antenna, then the device must be professionally installed. Please note that “Allow the RFID System to be installed and operated only by qualified specialist with a sufficient knowledge of electrical systems” does not meet this requirement. Please provide a manual that clearly states that the device must be professionally installed. 2. Please note that the manual and the test report calls this device an “amplifier”. Please note that part 15 does not allow amplifiers unless it is an integral part of a transmitting system. Please explain the term amplifier in this application. Is the device an amplifier or is it an intentional radiator? If it is an amplifier, to what transmitting device is it attached permanently? 3. Please note that while ANSI C63.4 2003 states the room, high and low temperatures are to be measured for temperature frequency stability, 47CFR part 2.1053 clearly states “Frequency measurements shall be made at the extremes of the specified temperature range and at intervals of not more than 10° centigrade through the range.” Please note that where ANSI C63.4 and the specific rules differ, the rules take precedence. Please provide the temperature variation data at 10degree steps. Alternately, please provide evidence that the FCC has allowed you to test only the ambient, high and low temperatures. 4. Please note that the test report refers to “after 2minutes, after 5 minutes, after 10 Minutes” for temperature stability measurements. Please explain if these times start after the required approximate 30 minute temperature stabilization period or otherwise. 5. Please note that, other than the loop antenna in the setup photos being shown, the report does not clearly indicate that frequencies below 30MHz were measured using only a magnetic loop antenna. Please confirm. Dennis Ward mailto:[email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.
