Turn the ignition key off, exit the vehicle, and close all doors, hood, and trunk or rear hatch.2. Press and release the LOCK button on the keychain transmitter. ; The red dash mounted L.E.D. begins to flash slowly. ; Vehicle's parking lights flash one time. … Vehicle's horn sounds one time - Selectable. If the horn sounds 3 times, then you have left a door, hood, or trunk or rearhatch opened. Simply close the opened entry point to provide full protection. ; All of the vehicle's doors lock. ; The headlights turn on for 20 seconds. CONTROL SWITCH :The red dash mounted L.E.D. suppliedwith the system also serves as a controlswitch. Refer to the illustrations at the rightfor an explanation of the switch positions. CONTROL SWITCH / ARMING CONTROL SWITCH OFF POSITION CONTROL SWITCH ON POSITION Red Light in OUT Position Red Light in IN Position 4 PROTECTION WHEN ARMED ; Whenever the system is armed, the red dash mounted L.E.D. indicator will slowly flash. This serves as a visual deterrent to the potential thief. The L.E.D. is a very low current bulb, and willnot drain the vehicle's battery, even when left unattended for extended periods. ; Opening any protected door, hood, or trunk lid will cause the system to immediately activate. The alarm will continue to activate for 30 seconds, then stop and continue to monitor allprotected entry points. If the thief left a door opened, the alarm will activate for six 30 secondcycles, then re - arm and ignore the opened door. ; Whenever the system is armed, the vehicle's starting circuit will be by - passed. If the thief chooses to ignore the activated system, the vehicle's starting circuit is interrupted. ; Whenever the system is activated, the vehicle's parking lights will flash for the full 30 second alarm cycle. The vehicle's horn will also sound for the full 30 second alarm cycle. ; A soft impact to the vehicle's glass will cause the system to sound a series of warn - away tones from the vehicle's horn. ; A strong impact to the vehicle's glass will cause the system to sound for the full 30 second alarm cycle. 5 DISARMING the SYSTEM 1. As you approach the vehicle, press and release the UNLOCK button on the keychain transmitter. ; Red dash mounted L.E.D. turns off. ; Parking lights flash two times. … Vehicle's horn sounds two times - Selectable. If the horn sounds 4 times, then the system was activated in your ab-sence. Before turning the key on, examine the L.E.D. and refer to thesection titled " INTRUSION WARNING INDICATORS " to identify whichzone was triggered. ; Driver's door unlocks. To unlock the remaining doors, press and release the UNLOCK button onthe keychain transmitter two times within 3 seconds. ; Headlights turn on for 20 seconds, or until the ignition key is switched on. 6 INTRUSION WARNING INDICATORS This system will inform you if an intrusion attempt was made while you were away from thevehicle. This is an important feature, as it will allow you to alert the proper authorities at theexact location of the intrusion.If an intrusion attempt has occurred, the vehicle's horn will sound 4 times when you disarm thesystem. Enter the vehicle, and observe the red dash mounted L.E.D. to identify which zone wastriggered. n If the L.E.D. is flashing one time...pause...one time...pause, then an intrusion attempt was made to the shock sensor or hood ( and rear doors in four door RAV4 models, Landcruiser, and 4Runner ). o If the L.E.D. is flashing two times...pause...two times...pause, then an intrusion attempt was made to the vehicle's trunk. p If the L.E.D. is flashing three times...pause...three times...pause, then an intrusion attempt was made through one of the vehicle's doors. ATTENTION ! These intrusion warning indicators are stored in the system's memory, and will be erased when the ignition key is turned to the on position. 7 VALET / MANUAL OVERRIDE The valet mode allows you to temporarily by - pass all alarm functions, eliminating the need tohand your transmitter to parking attendants or garage mechanics.
