Please provide a legible schematic diagram in accordance with Section 2.1033(b)(5) of the FCC Rules. When I enlarge the schematic diagram to read the components and their values, the schematic becomes unreadable. An updated schematic drawing has been uploaded. 2. Please provide IC labels with the two model numbers shown on them. The IC label provided had model number GM19131602 on it not model number 19131602. There was no IC lable with model number 19131628 on it. Labels have now been provided for both models. All associated paperwork has been modified to include “GM” in the part number. 3. Please upload a confidentiality letter for the IC portion of this filing. On September 10, 2007, IC started requiring all exhibits in any filing to be uploaded to their Website. As a result, the applicant or his authorized agent must request confidentiality of exhibits that are considered trade secret. Please see the ATCB IC application form on our Website. It has been updated to include a sample confidentiality letter for IC that you may use. Updated request has been uploaded. 4. For Your Information – The frequency band 225 ‐ 399.9 MHz is allocated for Government of Canada usage. There are different types of operations in different parts of this band of frequencies, including communications with aircraft and operations using high power transmitters. Besides avoiding the frequency bands of Table 1 of RSS‐210 Issue 7 dated June 2007, designers of low power devices are strongly recommended to so avoid wherever possible the entire 225‐399.9 MHz band.

This device is subject to the Rules and Regulations as a Transceiver. In testing completed on September 18, 2007, the device tested in the worst case met the allowed FCC specifications for radiated emissions by 0.6 dB (see p. 6). Besides harmonics, there were no other significant spurious emissions found; emissions from digital circuitry were negligible. The conducted emission tests do not apply, since the device is powered from a 12 VDC battery. Device Under Test 3.1 Identification The DUT is a 315 MHz transceiver, 3 x 2 x 1 inches in size. The device is the in-vehicle unit used in a two way remote vehicle start/keyless entry system. The DUT contains both a 315 MHz transmitter and a 315 MHz receiver. Emissions relating only to the transmitter portion of the device are reported herein. The DUT transmits Manchester encoded data at 2.1 kbs. The antenna external to the DUT. The DUT was designed and manufactured by Code Systems, Inc, 525 Minnesota Ave., Troy, Michigan 48083. It is identified as: Code Systems, IncTransceiver Model/PN(s): GM19131628, GM19131602 FCC ID: GOH-GMRFAB01 IC: 3954A-RFA1 3.2 Variants There are two models of the DUT (19131628 and 19131602). Both units contain identical RF circuitry, but in the digital section the input power connector and the CAN bus message structure are different. The device with the green connector (19131628) utilizes 29 bit CAN messages while the device with the black connector (19131602) utilizes 11 bit CAN messages. 3.3 Modes of Operation The DUT utilizes only a single mode of operation. The device is remotely activated after interrogation from an associated hand-held unit via an encoded protocol. After interrogation, the DUT ceases to transmit within 5 seconds (see Figure 6.1). 3.4 EMI/EMC Relevant Modifications There were no modifications made to the DUT by this laboratory. 4.
