FCC ID: IXMUSB114401 Dear Timothy: After the review of your comments, we have made some response upon your advice; they are summarized as follows: 1. The EUT is tested according to the requirements of both PC peripheral and Tx device. We will note that and having the photo inserted into our report in the future. For the photo with the minimum PC configuration, please find them in the uploads as an exhibit separately. 2. The pages with the regulatory statement 15.105(b) is inserted to the manual and uploaded as an exhibit separately. 3. You may find the description about the antenna at the right hand side on the page 5. 4. The pages with the corrected DoC statement of compliance is inserted and uploaded with the exhibit of comment #2 together. Should you have any questions or more information is needed, please don’t hesitate to ask us. Thank you. Sincerely yours, Eric Wong Project Engineer Training Research Co Ltd.
American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 September 24, 2002 RE: Universal Scientific Industrial Co., Ltd. FCC ID: IXMUSB114401 After a review of the submitted information, I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. 1) The EUT is considered a composite device (PC Peripheral Device + transmitter) and is subject to the applicable requirements of both. However in the configuration specified in the test report, the EUT has only been tested for the transmitter portion of the device (contrary to the information provided in Section 11 of the test report). For meeting the requirements of 15.107/15.207 & 15.109 the device should have also been tested with a minimum PC configuration as specified by ANSI C63.4 in order to meet the DoC requirements as a PC Peripheral Device. The device was not tested in this configuration as given in this report. Please confirm that the EUT has been properly evaluated and tested in a properly configured configuration or provide a copy of the DoC report. 2) The users manual should also include the information specified in 15.105(b). 3) The EUT appears to contain 2 antennas. However the schematics do not appear to show connection to 2 antennas. Please comment. 4) To meet the requirements of 2.1077 for the DoC statement of compliance in the users manual, the model name and or number should be listed on the same page as the responsible party (page 2 of the currently provided users manual). Timothy R. Johnson Examining Engineer mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Foreword In adopt with the Human Exposure IEEE C95.1, and according to the FCC 1.1310. The Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) is obligated to measure in order to prove the safety of radiation harmfulness to the human body. The Gain of the antenna used is measured in an Anechoic chamber. The maximum total power to the antenna is to be recorded. By adopting the Friis Transmission Formula and the power gain of the antenna, we can find the distance right away from the product, where the limit of the MPE is. 2.
