Important Safety Information This section introduces the hazards and safety precautions associated with installing, inspecting, maintaining, and servicing this product. This device complies with FCC Rules Part 15: Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference that may be received or that may cause undesired operation Notice: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. Before performing any task on this product, read this safety information and the applicable section in this manual, where additional hazards and safety precautions for your task will be found. Fire, explosion, electrical shock or pressure release could occur and cause death or serious injury. The instructions contained in this manual are intended for personnel trained by the manufacturer or manufacturer's representative only. Preliminary Precautions You are working in potentially dangerous environment of flammable fuels, vapors and high voltage or pressures, only trained or authorized individuals knowledgeable in the related procedures should install, inspect, maintain or service this equipment. 2. Read the Manual Read, understand, and follow this manual and the other labels or related materials supplied with the equipment. 2.1 Safety symbols and warning words This section provides important information about warning symbols and boxes. Alert Symbol This safety symbol alert is used in this manual and on warning labels to alert you to a precaution which must be followed to prevent potential personal safety hazards. Obey safety directives that follow this symbol to avoid possible injury or death. Page 6 of 13 Dual Nozzle Tag Installation Guide MNU-DMR-01-WW - Dec 2022 P/N: MNU-DMR-01-WW Rev. CAUTION with alert symbol: Designates a hazard or unsafe practice which may result in minor injury. 2.2 Safety Rules for Working with Fuels and Electrical Energy in Gas Stations โ€ข Fuels and their vapors will explode or burn, if ignited. Spilled or leaking fuels cause vapors. Even filling customer tanks will cause potentially dangerous vapors in the vicinity of the dispenser or island. Open flames from matches, lighters, welding torches, or other sources can ignite fuel vapor. โ€ข When performing work in gas stations you must use only manual pneumatic or hand tools. Do not use a soldering iron. โ€ข If pneumatic tools cannot perform the work, you must use electric tools that are suitable for explosive areas. โ€ข Make sure not to work on fuel equipment, tanks or dispensers with electric tools that may spread sparks or cause a flare-up. โ€ข Turn off the power before performing any electrical work on gas station. โ€ข Only an authorized electrician should carry out all wiring and connection of the electrical system. โ€ข Ensure that grounding connections are properly made. โ€ข A fence should be set around the work area in order to prevent injury of the employees and public.
