It also complies with CDRH as applicable to a Class IIa laser product. Avoid long term staring into direct laser light. Radiant Energy: The advanced portable data terminal uses two low-power visible laser diodes operating at 650nm in an opto-mechanical scanner resulting in less than 3.9μW radiated power as observed through a 7mm aperture and averaged over 10 seconds. Do not attempt to remove the protective housing of the scanner, as unscanned laser light with a peak output up to 0.8mW would be accessible inside. Laser Light Viewing: The scan window is the only aperture through which laser light may be observed from this product. A failure of the scanner motor, while the laser diode continues to emit a laser beam, may cause emission levels to exceed those for safe operation. The scanner has safeguards to prevent this occurrence. If, however, a stationary laser beam is emitted, the failing scanner should be disconnected from its power source immediately. Adjustments: Do not attempt any adjustments or alteration of this product. Do not remove the protective housing of the scanner. There are no iii user-serviceable parts inside. Caution: Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous laser light exposure. Optical: The use of optical instruments with this product will increase the eye hazard. Optical instruments include binoculars, magnifying glasses, and microscopes but do not include normal eye glasses worn by the user. iv Table of Contents Unpacking ......................................... 1 Finding Your Way Around................................ 2 Battery Care ......................................... 3 Installing Batteries..................................... 5 Charging Batteries..................................... 6 Getting Started ......................................... 8 Scanning and Storing Data.............................. 8 Uploading Data to a PC................................. 11 Uploading Data with WinTaskGen.................... 13 Uploading Data with HyperTerminal..................15 Setup ....................................... 16 LCD Contrast ....................................... 17 Beep Volume ....................................... 17 System Timer ........................................18 Barcode Setup ....................................... 20 Specifications ....................................... 21 Specifications ....................................... 21 Dimensions ....................................... 23 v Table of Figures Figure 1: Pocket-Sized Personal Data Collector... 2 Figure 2: Inserting Batteries............................. 5 Figure 3: Connecting the Power Adapter............ 7 Figure 4: Turning On...................................... 8 Figure 5: Bootup Screen................................. 9 Figure 6: Main Menu...................................... 9 Figure 7: Communication Cable...................... 11 Figure 8: Bootup Screen................................ 13 Figure 9: Main Menu..................................... 16 Figure 10: Main Menu.................................... 16 Figure 11: PDC Dimensions........................... 23 vi Congratulations on your purchase of the Personal Data Collector (PDC) with LCD display. Along with superior portability and visually safe scanning LEDs, the PDC features a real-time clock, a buzzer, a dual-color status LED, and a UART port for direct connection to external equipment. The on-board 32K EEPROM provides a robust, stable, programmable memory space. Some of this non-volatile memory is dedicated to storing scanned data. The PDC can retain more than 1000 records. The Personal Data Collector comes already pro- grammed with a basic data collection program, called FREETASK, that can scan and store barcodes, and do simple edits on the stored data. Data can be uploaded to a PC through the RS-232 / USB cable. WinTaskGen, a program on the included CD-ROM, can be used to create data collection programs (Tasks) for download and use with the PDC. A Task can have up to four data forms with up to 16 separate data fields per form. For more advanced requirements, there are available libraries for developing programs under the Keil C environment. Contact your agent if you are interested in this approach. 1 Unpacking The PDC package should contain: - 1 ea. Pocket-Sized Personal Data Collector - 1 ea. DB-9(F) serial communication cable - 1 ea. Please help to ignore the earlier schematic. Sorry for any inconvenience caused! Best Regards, Gina Dear Sir, Regarding Question 1, Best Regards, application 寄件人: gina.lo 吳鏗雰 2007/01/24 05:27 PM 收件人: <[email protected]> 副本抄送: 主旨: Re:ZEBEX INDUSTRIES INC., FCC ID: JNF-Z-107X, Assessment NO.: AN07T6465, Notice#1連結 Amanda Dear Gina Lo, You are listed as the technical contact for the above referenced TCB application. The following items need to be addressed before the review can be completed. 1. The RF Exposure evaluation information in the Test Report incorrectly states that this device does not need to be evaluated. This is a handheld device, which can be categorized as a Mobile RF Exposure category, since its operation is at 20cm from the body, excluding hands, wrists, feet and ankles. If operation is likely against the body, the RF power of 23.8mW + a 2dBi antenna would put the EIRP at (13.77dBm + 2dBi = 15.77dBm EIRP = 37.8mW) 37.8 mW, which is above the low threshold of the TCB Exclusion List. If this device is Portable, then SAR evaluation is required. If this device is Mobile, which appears to be the case, then an MPE evaluation must be submitted. Please update the RF Exposure evaluation in the test report. Additionally (if Mobile) please provide information to be provided to the user about the need to maintain 20cm separation and about incidental transmission situation if carried in the pocket. Ans: The threshold limit 25mW is the conducted power without antenna gain, so 13.77dBm = 23.82mW, which is lower than the threshold limit of exclustion list. This device is a handheld device and it does not have voice function. The normal operation of the device is handheld without head/body-worn position, so SAR measurements are exempt from testing, which is also confirmed by FCC under Inquiry Tracking Number: 673863. 2. The schematic diagram exhibit has a location for the Bluetooth Module, but the circuitry of this module has not been submitted. Please submit the schematic diagram of the Bluetooth circuitry. Ans: Please see the schematic diagram of the Bluetooth circuitry. The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information within 30 days of the original e-mail date may result in application dismissal and forfeiture of the filing fee. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the e-mail address listed below the name of the sender. Generic Office of Engineering Technology <[email protected] c.gov> 2007/01/11 07:39 AM 收件人:[email protected] 副本抄送: 主旨: Response to Inquiry to FCC (Tracking Number 673863) Inquiry: Dear Sir, We are Compliance Certification Services Inc.,a testing lab in Taiwan. We are going to file a submission to TCB which is subject to the item#6 of permit-but-ask procedure and product information are as below: FCC ID: JNF-Z-107X The above FCC ID device (Portable Data Terminal) is a handheld device and it does not have voice function. The normal operation of the device is handheld without head/body-worn position. Therefore, we, Compliance Certification Services Inc., hereby confirm that SAR measurements are exempt from testing. Please comment, thank you. Amanda Response: Thank you for your inquiry, which appears to describe a hand-held hand-operated only final product containing part 15 transmitter(s), operating in portable RF exposure conditions relative to user's hand and mobile RF exposure conditions relative to most other parts of persons' bodies. Based on description, and below notes, permit-but-ask and SAR evaluation do not appear to be applicable. FYI here again is related context from Oct06 and Oct05 FCC-TCB conference notes: Concerning SAR in hands, wrists, feet, and ankles: - Compliance issues are not expected, and SAR testing is not requested, for most present handsets and transmitters in consumer notebook and tablet computers -- Higher SAR limit -- Devices typically have SAR compliance info for other normal-use positions - Uniform SAR test and TCB review & approval procedures have not been established for hands, wrists, feet, ankles exposures -- TCBs and/or applicants should contact FCC Lab before submitting new or evolved types of product configurations and technologies which have only hands, wrists, feet, or ankles normal-use position - Wireless-PDA generally hand-held-only PORTABLE device (wrt hand, extremity SAR limit higher) operating at 20 cm from the body (mobile wrt body) -- When submitted by applicant’s choice, wireless-PDA lap-held SAR data is reviewed for compliance -- User instructions may be appropri! ate for wireless-PDA lap-held or in-pocket incidental transmitting conditions, or SAR evaluated by applicant’s choice Do not reply to this message.
