These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: •Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. •Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. •Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. •Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. The GoBook (IX250) computer complies with Part 68 of the FCC Rules. On the bottom of this equipment is a label that contains, among other information, the FCC registration number and ringer equivalence number (REN) for this equipment. If requested, this information must be provided to the telephone company. The REN is used to determine the quantity of devices which may be connected to the telephone line. Excessive RENs on the telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most, but not all areas, the sum of the RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected to the line, as determined by the total RENs, contact the telephone company to determine the maximum REN for the calling area. The GoBook (IX250) computer may be connected to the telephone network using the RJ-11 jack provided. GoBook™ User’s Manual iv 77-0100-003 19 January 2001 If this equipment causes harm to the telephone network, the telephone company will notify you in advance that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. If advance notice isn’t practical, the telephone company will notify the customer as soon as possible. Also, you will be advised of your right to file a complaint with the FCC if you believe it is necessary. The telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment, operations, or procedures that could affect the operation of the equipment. If this happens, the telephone company will provide advance notice in order for you to make the necessary modifications in order to maintain uninterrupted service. If trouble is experienced with this equipment, please contact the equipment manufacturer for repair and/or warranty information. Do not attempt repairs of this equipment yourself without obtaining manufacturer authorized parts and documentation. If the trouble is causing harm to the telephone network, the telephone company may request you remove the equipment from the network until the problem is resolved. Compliance Statement for Canada NOTICE: The Industry Canada label identifies certified equipment. This certification means that the equipment meets certain telecommunications network protective, operational and safety requirements as prescribed in the appropriate Terminal Equipment Technical Requirements document(s). The Department does not guarantee the equipment will operate to the user’s satisfaction. Before installing this equipment, users should ensure that it is permissible to be connected to the facilities of the local telecommunications company. The equipment must also be installed using an acceptable method of connection. The customer should be aware that compliance with the above conditions may not prevent degradation of service in some situations. Repairs to certified equipment should be made by a representative designated by the supplier. Any repairs or alterations made by the user to this equipment, or equipment malfunctions, may give the telecommunications company cause to request the user to disconnect the equipment. RF Exposure Info

CETECOM Inc. 411 Dixon Landing Road Milpitas, CA 95035 Federal Communication Commission Authorization and Evaluation Division 7435 Oakland Mills Road Columbia, MD 21046 Attention: Reviewing Engineer The Itronix Corporation Laptop is a ruggedized Laptop with a built in GSM card Due to the construction and the position of the antenna a distance under normal operating conditions of more than 20 cm is guaranteed. Additionally the user manual This information includes the following: A minimum separation distance of 20 cm must be maintained between the antenna and the person for this device to satisfy the RF exposure requirements of the FCC. The maximum output power of the Burst 1820 mW (32.6 dBm). Regarding MPE limits, GPUC environment limits maximum exposure to 1 mW/cm 2. The power density is: S = E 2 /3770=-13 H 2 = limit < 1 mW/cm 2 Where: S = Power density (mW/cm 2) E = electrical field strength (V/m) This formula converted using the EIRP is P out *G/4π*r 2 mW/cm 2 1820/4π*100 = 1.449 mW/cm 2 Further, the device uses the GSM protocol, which is a TDD format ratio of 1/8 in GSM mode and 4/8 in GPRS mode. Thus the 1.449 mWatts/ cm 2 is further reduced by this ratio or it is equivalent to 0.7245 mW/cm 2 for GPRS mode in 10 cm distance. In GSM mode this reduces to 0.1811 mW/cm 2 Calculations are based on standard formula for calculating field strength at a distance and converting power density using free space impedance. If you should have any questions regarding this submission, please feel free to contact the undersigned. Yours truly, Lothar Schmidt Technical Manager EMC/Radio CETECOM Inc.

Test report no.: 301FCC24/2002 Issue date: 2002-06-28 Page 7 (55) POWER OUTPUT SUBCLAUSE § 24.232 Summary: During the process of testing, the EUT was controlled via Rhode & Schwarz Digital Radio Communication tester (CMD-55) to ensure max. power transmission and proper modulation. This paragraph contains both average, peak output powers and EIRP measurements for the EUT. In all cases, the peak output power is within the required mask (this mask is specified in the JTC standards, TIA PN3389 Vol. 1 Chap 7, and is no FCC requirement). Method of Measurements: The EUT was set up for the max. output power with pseudo random data modulation. The power was measured with R&S Spectrum Analyzer FSEM 30 ( peak and average) This measurements were done at 3 frequencies, 1850.2 MHz, 1880.0 MHz and 1909.8 MHz (bottom, middle and top of operational frequency range) Limits: Power Step Nominal Peak Output Power (dBm) Tolerance (dB) 0 +30 2 Power Measurements: Conducted: Frequency (MHz) Power Step Peak Output Power (dBm) Average Output Power (dBm) 1850.2 0 28.57 25.1 1880.0 0 28.14 24.8 1909.8 0 28.56 24.8 Measurement uncertainty 0.5 dB ANALYZER SETTINGS: RBW = 3MHz VBW = 3MHz CETECOM Inc. Test report no.: 301FCC24/2002 Issue date: 2002-06-28 Page 8 (55) EIRP Measurements Description: This is the test for the maximum radiated power from the EUT. Rule Part 24.232(b) specifies that "Mobile/portable stations are limited to 2 watts e.i.r.p. peak power" and 24.232(c) specifies that "Peak transmit power must be measured over any interval of continuous transmission using instrumentation calibrated in terms of an rms-equivalent voltage." Method of Measurement: 1. In an anechoic antenna test chamber, a half-wave dipole antenna for the frequency band of interest is placed at the reference centre of the chamber. An RF Signal source for the frequency band of interest is connected to the dipole with a cable that has been constructed to not interfere with the radiation pattern of the antenna. A known (measured) power (Pin) is applied to the input of the dipole, and the power received (Pr) at the chamber's probe antenna is recorded. 2. A "reference path loss" is established as Pin + 2.1 - Pr. 3. The EUT is substituted for the dipole at the reference centre of the chamber. The EUT is put into CW test mode and a scan is performed to obtain the radiation pattern. 4. From the radiation pattern, the co-ordinates where the maximum antenna gain occurs is identified. 5. The EUT is then put into pulse mode at its maximum power level (Power Step 0). 6. "Gated mode" power measurements are performed with the receiving an…
