These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. The GoBook Tablet PC (IX300) computer complies with Part 68 of the FCC Rules. On the bottom of this equipment is a label that contains, among other information, the FCC registration number and ringer equivalence number (REN) for this equipment. If requested, this information must be provided to the telephone company. The REN is used to determine the quantity of devices which may be connected to the telephone line. Excessive RENs on the telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most, but not all areas, the sum of the RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected to the line, as determined by the total RENs, contact the telephone company to determine the maximum REN for the calling area. The GoBook Tablet PC (IX300) computer may be connected to the telephone network using the RJ-11 jack provided. If this equipment causes harm to the telephone network, the telephone company will notify you in advance that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. If advance notice isn’t practical, the telephone company will notify the customer as soon as possible. Also, you will be advised of your right to file a complaint with the FCC if you believe it is necessary. The telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment, operations, or procedures that could affect the operation of the equipment. If trouble is experienced with this equipment, please contact the equipment manufacturer for repair and/or warranty information. Do not attempt repairs of this equipment yourself without obtaining manufacturer authorized parts and documentation. If the trouble is causing harm to the telephone network, the telephone company may request you remove the equipment from the network until the problem is resolved. Compliance Statement for Canada NOTICE The Industry Canada label identifies certified equipment. This certification means that the equipment meets certain telecommunications network protective, operational and safety requirements as prescribed in the appropriate Terminal Equipment Technical Requirements document(s). The Department does not guarantee the equipment will operate to the user’s satisfaction. Before installing this equipment, users should ensure that it is permissible to be connected to the facilities of the local telecommunications company. The equipment must also be installed using an acceptable method of connection. The customer should be aware that compliance with the above conditions may not prevent degradation of service in some situations. Repairs to certified equipment should be made by a representative designated by the supplier. Any repairs or alterations made by the user to this equipment, or equipment malfunctions, may give the telecommunications company cause to request the user to disconnect the equipment. American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 March 8, 2004 RE: FCC ID: KBCIX300AC750WLBT_ATCB001141 Attention: Rod Munro I have a few comments on this Application. 1. Please note that the MPE report you provided uses 40mW as the conducted power (15.45dBm +a cable loss of 0.58dB). However, the conducted testing done by CCS (the report you are using for conducted measurements) only show 15.52dBm and does not show the cable loss, while a supplemental conducted test you performed shows 15.45 with the 0.58dB cable. If the the conducted power data from the CCS report is to be used, please make the reports consistent as to the final power measurements. Please explain – which report is accurate. Please clearly identify the conducted antenna terminal data for this application. 2. Please note that the Bluetooth reports show the same discrepancy types as in item 1. Please explain and clearly identify the conducted antenna terminal data for this application. 3. Please note that there was not request for confidentiality letter provided in the application. Please provide a letter requesting confidentiality for the appropriate documents (i.e. block diagrams, schematics, theory of operations, tune up procedure, parts list). 4. Please note that the Bluetooth operational description is in Chinese. Please provide an English version of the BT operational description (MUBTC2 QSGñññs¿-Ñ+ñGÑU.pdf). 5. Please note that the parts list (Confidential_0AB0290101N_BOM.xls) is primarily in Chinese. Please provide an English version. 6. Please note that I could not find the Block diagram for te WLAN transmitter. Please provide the Block diagram for this part of the system. Dennis Ward mailto:[email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued.
