About this manual This manual provides information for setting up and configuring the DMA. This manual is intended for home users. Regulatory Approvals FCC Statement This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. FCC Radiation Exposure Statement This equipment complies with FCC RF radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20 centimeters between the radiator and your body. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. The antennas used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. Channel The Wireless Channel sets the radio frequency used for communication. Access Points use a fixed Channel. You can select the Channel used. This allows you to choose a Channel which provides the least interference and best performance. In the USA and Canada, 11 channel are available. If using multiple Access Points, it is better if adjacent Access Points use different Channels to reduce interference. In "Infrastructure" mode, Wireless Stations normally scan all Channels, looking for an Access Point. If more than one Access Point can be used, the one with the strongest signal is used. (This can only happen within an ESS.) If using "Ad-hoc" mode (no Access Point), all Wireless stations should be set to use the same Channel. However, most Wireless stations will still scan all Channels to see if there is an existing "Ad-hoc" group they can join. There is no indication in the report if this is an engineering modification for compliance reason or if this is a manufacturer installed modification. Please explain. Please provide a statement from the manufacturer that this copper tape will be on all devices manufactured. 2. Please note that your report references ANSI C63.4 2001. Please note that this is an incorrect reference as the FCC requires the use of ANSI C63.4 2003. Please confirm that all testing meets the requirements of ANSI C63.4 and please correct all references in the FCC report to reflect ANSI C63.4 2003. 3. Please explain why the fundamental emissions is being compared to the restricted band limits on pages 8 through 13 of the report 2 and pages 1 through 6 of report 3. 4. Please note that your MPE calculations are incorrect. Please note that with a 15.09dBm conducted power and a 2 dBi gain antenna the S at 20cm would be 0.01mw/cm6^2, not 0.005mw/cm^2. Test Limit Radiated emissions from 30 MHz to 25 GHz were measured according to the methods defines in ANSI C63.4-2003. The EUT was placed, 0.8 meter above the ground plane, as shown in section 5.6.3. The EUT was placed on a rotatable table top 0.8 meter above ground. 2. The EUT was set 3 meters from the interference receiving antenna which was mounted on the top of a variable height antenna tower. 3. The table was rotated 360 degrees to determine the position of the highest radiation. 4. The antenna is a broadband antenna and its height is varied between one meter and four meters above ground to find the maximum value of the field strength both horizontal polarization and vertical polarization of the antenna are set to make the measurement. 5. For each suspected emission the EUT was arranged to its worst case and then tune the antenna tower (from 1 M to 4 M) and turn table (from 0 degree to 360 degrees) to find the maximum reading. 6. Set the test-receiver system to Peak or CISPR quasi-peak Detect Function and specified bandwidth with Maximum Hold Mode. 7. If the emission level of the EUT in peak mode was 3 dB lower than the limit specified, then testing will be stopped and peak values of EUT will be reported, otherwise, the emissions which do not have 3 dB margin will be repeated one by one using the quasi-peak method and reported. 8. For testing above 1GHz, the emission level of the EUT in peak mode was 20dB lower than average limit (that means the emission level in peak mode also complies with the limit in average mode), then testing will be stopped and peak values of EUT will be reported, otherwise, the emissions will be measured in average mode again and reported.
