American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 August 13, 2002 RE: AboCom System Inc. FCC ID: MQ4UBT1K After a review of the submitted information, I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. 1) Please provide a higher resolution exhibit for the label. The FCC ID is not "clearly" distinguishable. 2) Please provide: a) a photograph of the back of the Bluetooth module. b) a photograph of the main board with the Bluetooth module removed. 3) Regarding the Transmitter Schematics, please provide one of the following: a) A schematic of the RF portion (Bluetooth Module). b) Alternatively, if the radio is a modular component from a different manufacturer, you may instead provide a parts list that shows the Bluetooth Module as a part from a different manufacturer. If the parts list is provided, please be sure to let us know if confidentiality is requested on it and update the confidentiality letter if necessary. 4) This device may be directly plugged directly into the USB port. Other uses other than desktop computers (i.e. laptop use) becomes a portable RF Exposure condition. This condition exists because of the following: a) the antenna is integrated into the EUT b) With the device directly plugged into the USB ports on a laptop, the antenna will be closer than the 20 cm distance if the user chooses to use the laptop in their lap. This same condition exists with PCMCIA Cards. It it must be assumed that the user could choose to use the device while in their lap. Please updated the RF exposure information to mention portable/mobile use. Additionally, it is recommended that the reference to the 20 cm distance be removed (this is listed in introduction and in the table on the next page). 5) Please remove the notice in the RF exposure exhibit which gives the sample users manual information. 6) Only the Co-location information has to be located in the users manual. Please remove item #1 under the RF exposure information in the users manual. 7) This device is considered both a Part 15 transmitter and a Class B PC Periperal and is subject to the labeling and users manual requirements for both. Please update the manual to include the information sheet specified in 2.1077 (all the information for 2.1077 should appear on a single page either in the users manual or as an insert). Timothy R. Johnson Examining Engineer mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued.
