No.: 041902-01 802.11b Wireless CardBus PC Card User Guide REGULATORY STATEMENTS FCC STATEMENT This model 802.11b Wireless CardBus PC Card (WB2000) must be installed and used in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions as described in the user documentation that comes with the product. This device complies with Part 15 of FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1) This device may not cause harmful interface, and 2) This device must accept any interface received, including interface that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy, and if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: β—— Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. β—— Increase the distance between the equipment and receiver. β—— Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. A wireless LAN is like a regular LAN, except that you can share information without looking for a place to plug in, and augment networks without installing or moving wires. Based on radio frequency (RF) technology, a wireless LAN transmits and receives data over the air, along with the guarantee to provide privacy and noninterference by the use of separate radio frequency. The 802.11b Wireless 32bit CardBus PC Card allows you to take full advantage of your PC’s mobility with access to real-time information and online services anytime and anywhere. Plus, with the network installation simplicity and flexibility, you can eliminate the need to pull cable through walls and ceilings and allow the network to go where wires cannot go. Insert the Setup Utility CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive and double click on Setup.exe to install the Configuration & Monitor Utility. 2. When the Welcome screen appears, click Next to continue. - 4 - 3. The Choose Destination Location screen will show you the default destination chosen by the utility. Click Next to continue. 4.
