Bulb Driver RF Receiver Micro-controller Diagnostic Interface EEprom RTPM Hardware Block Diagram The receiver hardware consists of three main areas :- RF receiver, processor and bulb driver and diagnostic interface. Data is received from the RTPM transmitter via radio signals.
Overview A system has been developed to monitor a vehicle's tire pressures and display real-time pressure values or warning messages/indications on the instrument panel display while the vehicle is on the road. An electronic unit inside each tire, mounted to the valve stem periodically measures the tire pressure, and by means of radio frequency communication transmits the pressure value to a dashboard-mounted receiver. The receiver generates a signal to another unit in the car called a Body Controller Module (BCM). The BCM uses this signal to control a warning bulb. Overall Description The RTPM Receiver is one part of the RTPM System. The complete RTPM System comprises four RTPM transmitter systems, a RTPM receiver, a BCM and bulb, and an interface to a Diagnostic Unit. There is one RTPM transmitter located inside each tire. The RTPM receiver and the bulb are located in the dashboard. The diagnostic unit is not connected in normal operation. Bulb(via BCM) 4 Transmitters (One per wheel) Receiver Diagnostic Interface
