Utilizing a unique direct-conversion, zero-intermediate frequency (zero-IF) receiver architecture, WE904/905 provides radio designers a high performance RF transceiver solution with low external component count and small PCB footprint. The receiver section of the WE904/905 provide all of the required receiver functions including local oscillator synthesis (VCO), down-conversion, filtering, automatic gain control (AGC), automatic frequency control (AFC), FM/FSK demodulator and RSSI functions. The transmitter section contains a directly modulated VCO and RF power amplifier (PA). Internal, dual, high-performance phase locked loop (PLL) synthesizers/VCOs allow full duplex or half- duplex operation over the entire RF tuning range. Tuning, power management, and gain control (manual) functions are accomplished via serial interface.
