" One CD-ROM drive 5 GETTING STARTED Getting To Know The 11Mbps Wireless Network PC Card WIRELESS NETWORK PC Card’S LEDs " Power LED ON when the unit is powered up " WLAN LED ON indicates WLAN connection; blink indicates wireless activity Setting Up The Wireless Network There two wireless network topologies that you can setup your wireless card with. One is called ìAd-Hocî, and the other is ìInfrastructureî. On an Ad-Hoc network, two or more computers each has at least one wireless network client device such as wireless PC Card installed, establish point-to-point data communication with each other. While on an Infrastructure network, every wireless station communicates through Access Points. Setting Up Ad-Hoc Network The idea of Ad-Hoc Network is rather simple. All the wireless station are set to use the same BSS ID and channel to establish communication linkage with each other to form a point-to-point network for data transmission and reception. Please note that the power measurements between the EMC and SAR reports must agree within 5%. The maximum power measured in the EMC report is 16.94dBm (49.3mW) while the maximum power stated on page 4 (Conducted Output Power) is 56.36mW. Still, the maximum reported power in the SAR report on page 8 (Description of Test Modes and Configurations) is 49.3mW. While pages 8 and 11 agrees with and is within the 5% of the EMC power, the stated power on page 4 of the SAR report does not. Please correct the report to show consistent power readings throughout the report. If the power listed on page 4 of the SAR report is correct, you will have to retest SAR or EMC to obtain power levels that are within 5% of each other (EMC and SAR). 2. The z-axis plot tends to show that some anomalies in the system. The z-axis plot is typically an exponential decay. Please explain why the curve does not match the expected results. Please review the explanation of the z-axis curve in IEEE 1528. The other instruction, please have a look at the users manual. DSSS Information This device is Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum, the data is mixed by pseudorandom code which is an orthogonal code. The mixed data is digital modulated by BPSK and QPSK technique depends on the data rates. The CCK coding is applied for increasing the data rate, and also the processing gain will be increased. The bit rates are 1,2,5.5,11Mbps, the symbol rates are 1,1,1.375,1.375Mbps, the chip rates are always 11Mbps. So, the Chip/symbol is 11,11,8 and 8 respectively. Although is higher bit rate, the processing gain is lower than 10, but the CCK coding used in higher bit rate will provide 2.2dB coding gain.
