NOTE: This product must be earthed. Please ensure that other equipment connected to it is earthed according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Monitor Audio Group declare in own responsibility, that the Monitor Audio products described in this manual is in compliance with the following Standards and is in conformity with the essential requirements of the Radio Equipment Regulations 2017. AC Mains Supply Your Caspian Amplifier is set to operate from a fixed supply voltage which is marked on a label next to the mains input plug. The mains lead supplied with this product has an IEC C13 mains plug which is inserted into the Mains Input Socket on the unit’s rear panel. The other end is a moulded plug appropriate to that for your country. If your lead has been damaged please obtain a complete replacement lead from your dealer. Should you move to another area where either the mains voltage or the mains plugs are different from those as supplied with your product, please contact the appointed Roksan distributor for assistance. Please observe correct mains polarity at all times. The mains fuses are located on the rear panel below the IEC Mains Input Socket. These must only be replaced by the fuse type and rating as described on the fuse rating label on the rear panel of the unit. If the equipment is likely to be unused for some time, unplug it from the mains supply. NOTE: This unit contains no user serviceable parts. Do not remove any panels or attempt to service it yourself. Unauthorised servicing will void the warranty. Maintenance After disconnecting the product from the mains supply, the casing and front panel may be cleaned with a lightly dampened lint-free cloth. Furniture polish can also be used to clean the amplifier. Avoid using abrasive substances or solvents. Location Your amplifier should be located in a well ventilated area and kept away from sources of heat, dust, humidity and direct sunlight. The amplifier may be positioned either as a free standing unit or alongside other audio/video product(s). Never place the amplifier under other electronic equipment, carpet or on any surface likely to hinder normal ventilation. Never allow liquids or other objects to fall into the unit. We recommend a minimum of 25mm air space all around the amplifiers. If you have an Integrated or Streaming Amplifier and Power Amplifier do not place them on top of each other. They should be sited on different shelves of the equipment rack, or side by side. English Remote 1 3 4 2 5 6 7 8 10 12 13 14 11 9 1. Mute 2. Volume Up 3. Previous Track/ Scan Backwards 4. High frequency absorber was in place on the chamber floor. The EUT was positioned on a turntable 1.5m high and the measuring antenna was placed at a distance of 3 metres. 5 tests were performed: Test 1a: Antenna 1 fitted to Caspian 4G Streaming unit’s rear panel (rear panel not fitted to Caspian 4G Product) measurements made on BluOS positioned Antenna. Test 1b: Antenna 2 fitted to Caspian 4G Streaming unit’s rear panel (rear panel not fitted to Caspian 4G Product) measurements made on BTC positioned Antenna. Note: Antenna 2 is 90⁰ difference in position to Test 2a: Antenna 1 fitted to Caspian 4G Streaming unit’s rear panel with rear panel Fitted to Caspian 4G Product) measurements made on BluOS positioned Antenna. Test 2b: Antenna 2 fitted to Caspian 4G Streaming unit’s rear panel with rear panel Fitted to Caspian 4G Product) measurements made on BTC positioned Antenna. Test 3a: Antenna 1 fitted facing down in Caspian 4G chassis (used for ESP32 (BLE/2.4 WiFi) so the Caspian 4G amplifier was positioned on its side to enable testing (See photos). Note: this antenna is the same as Antenna tested in test 1b above, but the antenna is fitted facing down in to the Caspian 4G chassis, so was only tested in the chassis. Each of the antennas in turn was fed via a coaxial cable with an RF power level of -20dBm at the signal generator output. The EUT backplane with Antennas fitted was positioned in its normal use position while being rotated 360⁰ (azimuth) and aligned with boresight of the measuring horn Antenna. For tests where the EUT backplane was fitted into EUT chassis the same position and azimuth rotation was performed- unless stated. Refer to photo section for photos of rear panel/EUT antennas positions. The ”Standard” antenna (2) is mounted such that it is cross polarised in relation to the “Standard -5 dB antenna” (1). This necessitates horizontal results on one antenna be compared to vertical results on the other antenna and vice versa. Measurements were made with the measuring antenna in vertical polarisation and then repeated for horizontal polarisation. In all cases the EUT was adjusted in elevation angle to ensure maximised Gain measurement – maximised elevation position was directly in line with the Antenna (i.e. 0 degrees elevation)…
