The Operation Frequency for the RKE function is 315 MHz and will be used as a portable device. The RF transmitter is mechanically integrated into the Key Fob Housing. This transmitter is used to transmit information for locking or unlocking the vehicle by a unidirectional RF transmission line for normal remote operation by pressing a button. RF transmitter also provides passive entry functions for the vehicle. In general the following functions are provided: -Lock the car -Unlock the car -Unlock the trunk of the car -Panic Alarm -Remote Start -Cabin Pre-conditioner * -Open Plug-in door* * Option only available with Chevy Volt vehicle which represents an electric platform. Intended environment conditions: - 10 degree Celsius to + 55 degree Celsius STRATTEC Security Corporation FCC ID OHT05918179 IC 5461A-0591879 Page 3 of 8 Label Information:Label information can be found below the key blade. For Chevy Volt, remote start and open the trunk is replaced with open plug-in door and cabin pre-conditioner. The required functions work within a range of around 100m of the vehicle. 1.) To unlock doors Press and release the UNLOCK Button on the RF Transmitter once to unlock. 2.) To lock doors STRATTEC Security Corporation FCC ID OHT05918179 IC 5461A-0591879 Page 5 of 8 Press and release the LOCK Button on the RF Transmitter once to lock. 3.) Trunk Press and release the TRUNK Button on the RF Transmitter once to open the Trunk. 4.) Panic Alarm Press and release the PANIC Button on the RF Transmitter once to turn the Panic Alarm ON and OFF. 5.) Remote Start This button allows the user to remotely start the engine of the vehicle. 6.) Cabin Pre-conditioner STRATTEC Security Corporation FCC ID OHT05918179 IC 5461A-0591879 Page 6 of 8 Press and release to turn on the vehicle for cabin pre-conditioning. This function will allow the user heat/cool the vehicle before entry. 7.) Opens the plug-in door Press and release to access the plug-in door, located on the outside of the vehicle. Notes: If any of the buttons are pressed and not released within 60 second duration the RF transmitter will stop transmitting and shut down to prevent the battery drainage. Power Supply: The RF transmitter is battery powered with 1 Lithium battery CR 2032, supplying +3V power, which is installed into the PCB battery holder facing + side down. The display in the instrument cluster of the vehicle will inform the user when the battery of the RF transmitter is getting low (weak). The battery indicator light in the instrument cluster flashes when the battery voltage level is decreasing to a lower than 2.3 V, the battery should be replaces. The minimum operating voltage is approximately 2.1 V. If the voltage drops below 2.1 V the RF transmitter will not operate and battery needs to be replaced. Battery: Replacing the battery: STRATTEC Security Corporation FCC ID OHT05918179 IC 5461A-0591879 Page 7 of 8 Open the battery cover having transmitter buttons facing down. Remove the old battery carefully from the battery compartment. Replace the new battery +-side facing up. Avoid touching the new batteries with fingers, skin oils may cause battery deterioration. Do not touch the PCB or the battery clip. WARNING: This device complies with the Part 15 of the FCC Rules and with the RSS-210 of Industry Canada. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. WARNING for End User: STRATTEC Security Corporation FCC ID OHT05918179 IC 5461A-0591879 Page 8 of 8 Changes or modifications made to this equipment not expressly approved by STRATTEC Security Corporation may void the FCC authorization to operate the equipment. This hand-held radio transmitter is primarily used for vehicle remote locking/ unlocking (Key less entry) applications. It also provides passive entry functions in which the remote key buttons are not used at all. It must be kept away from the reach of children. In the event of RF Failure the key blade can be used to open the vehicle door or trunk.
