INTERNATIONAL Data Sheet November 200017384 DRAFT 20462, 20453 DualTech Desktop Reader Installation Instructions Description The DualTech PC Desktop Reader is an accessory for use with a PAC Adminstration interface unit. This system is used for direct PC to controller communications (fig. 1). Note: This Desktop Reader will read KeyPAC and PAC ID-devices. Note: It is unlikely that you will need an Interface Kit at a PC that already has a CNC attached. CNCs have either front panel or external readers for administration purposes. WARNING: The Interface Unit contains mains voltages. This procedure should only be carried out by a suitably qualified and experienced person. If you have any doubts as to your suitability contact PAC for advice. Failure to do so may result in injury or death by electric shock. WARNING: If, at any time, the interface kit or its wiring appear damaged then immediately disconnect it from the mains and contact PAC for advice. Failure to do so can result in electric shock and/or further damage to equipment. DualTech Desktop Reader17384 DRAFT Page 3 DRAFT ©2000 PAC International Ltd. Installation Opening the Interface Unit WARNING: This Interface Unit contains mains voltages. Before opening ensure that it is disconnected from the mains. Failure to do so can result in injury or death by electric shock. Make sure that the Interface Unit is not connected to the mains then remove the lid by removing the 4 screws recessed in the base. There are removable terminal blocks fitted to the circuit board as shown below: Connecting the Desktop reader The Desktop reader supplied with the kit is complete with cable and terminal block. Fit the terminal block with the screw heads facing the centre of the interface unit, and route the cable through the grommet provided. Covering letter for FCC Form 731 Attachments 0.459 Request that submitted material be withheld from Public Inspection FCC ID OQL-PAC-D-DTConfirmation number EA99514 It is requested that the following exhibits be withheld from Public Inspection: • Operational Description • Schematic Diagram • Block Diagram This information is considered to be PAC International proprietary and confidential. The unit is supplied fully encapsulated in hard potting - the design features are not evident from inspection hence reverse engineering is extremely problematic. This unit is believed to have a performance advantage over our competition – revealing details of the design to our competitors would put us at a disadvantage. We therefore request that the above-listed items are withheld from public inspection. Shaun Byr ne Controller Team Leader PAC International Ltd

Note 2: The correction factor of –80dB to convert from field measured at 3m to field at 300m is taken from 47 CFR 15.31 f (2) (page 661, 10-1-99 edition) which states that an inverse linear distance extrapolation factor of 40dB/decade can be used. There are 2 decades of distance from 3m to 300m, therefore the extrapolation factor is –2x40 = -80dB
