Millennium FX Car Monitoring System This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions : (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Caution : Any changes of modifications in construction of this device which are not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. 1 - 9 CAR MONITOR (Model RCM-3000) User Guide and Installation Manual Car Monitor (Millennium FX) is your complete solution to provide you with live monitoring and surveillance for your vehicle. No more guessing what happens to your car while shopping, working, or staying at home. 1- A small and innovative hand pager(that can be carried in the supplied belt clip, or in your pocket or handbag), will instantly alert you should your parked vehicle be violated. The alert is selectable, from either a musical melody, or a silent vibration. While no sound is emitted from the vehicle, a neat LCD display on the pager accurately monitors doors open/closed status, hood and trunk open/closed status, and hard impacts to your vehicle. It even advises whether the vehicle’s engine has been started. 2- The high tech display is back lit, and also indicates other useful information such as whether or not you are within the effective range of the system, the current time, a reminder alarm, alert mode selection, low battery, and more. 3- Car Monitor(Millennium FX) uses FM and other new technologies making it suitable for any make and model of 12-volt vehicle with or without an existing car security alarm, and provides the highest performance, most reliable quality and longest service distance (This range depends upon local Radio Frequency laws). Car Monitor(Millennium FX) is ideal for vehicles fitted with factory immobilisers, effectively increasing the level of security. 2 - 9 MONITORING YOUR VEHICLE Trigger Zones Your pager will immediately alert you of a violation to your vehicle. A melody or vibration will be emitted, and a visual icon will display on the LCD Screen. 1) Door Open / Closed Status 2) Engine Start Status 3) Impact Status(Pre-warn Zone and full trigger, depending upon the exiting security system) 4) Hood Open / Closed Status 5) Trunk Open / Closed Status Operation 1) The transmitter of Car Monitor will be automatically turned off 30 seconds after the vehicle’s engine is started. 2) When Car Monitor is installed with an existing security alarm, Car Monitor is designed to be controlled, and automatically turned ON or OFF by the operation of the existing remote control system. As soon as the vehicle is armed, Car Monitor is turned ON. 3 - 9 ENHANCED USER FEATURES 1) Out-of Range Indicator ( 1 ). The symbol ( 1 ) indicates that Car Monitor is within the operational range. Out of Range Alert Selection : Silent or Tone alert. Press Button ( ) repeatedly until the symbol(1) starts flashing. Select ON or OFF by pressing Button (). Press Button ( ) to confirm. When ON is set, Car Monitor will emit “beep” immediately in Out-of Range Area. When OFF is selected, no sound will emit even in Out- of Range Area. 2) Low Battery Indicator ( 3 ). The symbol( 3 ) flashes and emits a beep when the Internal battery reaches the low level. We recommend the battery(AAA) is replaced immediately. 3) Resetting the Car Monitor ( 4 ). Press Button ( ) once, and the symbol (Off) will be flashing. Press button () to confirm the OFF mode. Car picture will disappear. Wake-Up alarm and Current Time still remain functional. 4)Setting Vibrating Alert Mode ( 5 ). Press Button (g gg g) repeatedly until the symbol ( 5 ) starts flashing. Press Button () to confirm Vibrating Alert Mode. 5)Setting Melody Alert Mode ( 6 ). Press Button (g gg g) repeatedly until the symbol ( 6 ) starts flashing. Press Button () to confirm Melody Alert Mode. 6) Setting Current Time mode ( 7 ). Press Button (g gg g) repeatedly until the symbol ( 7 ) starts flashing. Press Button () to select Time Setting Mode. Change the Hour, Minute and AM / PM by pressing Button (). To confirm each press Button (g gg g). 7) Setting Wake-Up Call Mode ( 8 ). Make sure to close the door, the trunk and the hood of the vehicle. Do not start the engine. You have 30 seconds to complete Step 2. Step 2 : Setting Code Learning Mode for the LCD receiver a) Press and hold Button () more than 1 second or until you hear a short beep tone. b) Press Button () 4 times. The current time will change to (0:00), indicating the LCD receiver is on code learning mode and is communicating with the main control module. Step 3 : Receiving ID Data. When ID data is successfully delivered to the LCD receiver, (0:00) changes to current time and LCD screen will be back to Standby Mode by emitting a song titled as Congratulation. Car Monitoring System - Millennium FX TM Radio Plus Co.,Ltd Oct 28, 1999 Sub. : RF Circuit Descriptions of TX The data from MPU PIN #11(Location # U1) is modulated by Variable-capacitance Diode (Location# D101). The modulated data is transferred to Crystal(Location# X1) through C4, L1 and R4. Crystal(Location # X1) as the fundamental frequency is oscillated and formed as 48.31MHz. The frequency of 48.31MHz is multiplied by the components such as Q1, C7, C8, VC1, C9, L3 and R6. The multiplied frequency is filtered and formed for the frequency of 434.79MHz by Q2, L5 and C16. The frequency of 434.79MHz is amplified through the components of Q3, L6 and C26 and transferred to Antenna.

Test Procedure 1.1 Preliminary Testing for Reference Preliminary testing was performed in a KTL absorber-lined room to determine the emission characteristics of the EUT. The EUT was placed on the wooden table which has dimensions of 0.8 meters in height, 1 meter in length and 1.5 meters in width. Receiving antenna(Biconical antenna : 30 to 300MHz, Log-periodic antenna : 200 to 1000MHz or Horn Antenna : 1 to 18GHz) was placed at the distance of 1 meter from the EUT. The measurement was performed with main controller was connected. An attempt was made to maximize the emission level with the various configurations of the EUT. The position of connecting cables and antenna of the EUT was changed to find the worst case configuration that produces maximum emission level from the EUT while rotating the table and varying antenna height. Emissions level from the EUT with various configurations were examined on a Spectrum Analyzer connected with a RF amplifier and graphed by a plotter. 1.2 Final Radiated Emission Test at a Absorber-Lined Room The final measurement of radiated field strength was carried out in a KTL Absorber-Lined Room that was listed up at FCC according to the "Radiated Emissions Testing" procedure specified by ANSI C63.4. Based on the test results in preliminary test, measurement was made in same test set up and configuration which produced maximum emission level. Receiving antenna was installed at 3-meter distance from the EUT, and was connected to an EMI receiver or spectrum analyzer(for above 1GHz) with a RF amplifier. Turntable was rotated thr…
