"IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL USERS OR DISTRIBUTORS: Intel wireless LAN adapters are engineered, manufactured, tested, and quality checked to ensure that they meet all necessary local and governmental regulatory agency requirements for the regions that they are designated and/or marked to ship into. Because wireless LANs are generally unlicensed devices that share spectrum with radars, satellites, and other licensed and unlicensed devices, it is sometimes necessary to dynamically detect, avoid, and limit usage to avoid interference with these devices. In many instances Intel is required to provide test data to prove regional and local compliance to regional and governmental regulations before certification or approval to use the product is granted. Intel's wireless LAN's EEPROM, firmware, and software driver are designed to carefully control parameters that affect radio operation and to ensure electromagnetic compliance (EMC). These parameters include, without limitation, RF power, spectrum usage, channel scanning, and human exposure. For these reasons Intel cannot permit any manipulation by third parties of the software provided in binary format with the wireless LAN adapters (e.g., the EEPROM…

Intel Corporation 100 Center Point Circle Columbia, SC 29210 Modular Approval Requirements Attestation FCC ID: PD97265NG and PD97265NGU Modular Approval is being requested for this device under the ID’s listed above. This device is a self contained, physically delineated, component for which compliance was demonstrated independent of any host operating conditions and complies with all eight requirements of FCC Part 15.212(a)(1). The details of these requirements and the manner in which the devices meet them are summarized below. The module must have its own RF shielding. The module contains a metal shield which covers all RF components and circuitry; this shield is located on the top side of the board located next to the antenna connectors. All modulation and data input(s) are buffered. Data to the modulation circuit is buffered on the module; please refer to the “theory of operation” document filed with this application for full description. The module has its own power supply regulation and local reference oscillator. The module contains its own power supply regulation and the rf reference oscillator is contained within the module. Please refer to the schematics and “theory of operation” documents filed with this application for full description. The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204(c). The certification submission contains a detailed description of all antennas that will be used with the module. The module connects to its antenna via using an UFL type connector. This antenna connector is a non-standard connector. The antenna tested was a PIFA type and the data sheet is included in the application. The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration, i.e., the module must not be inside another device during testing. Test data contained in this application is for the device tested as a stand-alone device connected externally to a PC. See test set-up photographs filed with this application. For the FCC, the modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number, and, if the FCC ID is not visible when the module is installed inside another device, then the outside of the device into which the module is installed must also display a label referring to the Intel Corporation 100 Center Point Circle Columbia, SC 29210 enclosed module. This exterior label can use wording such as the following: “Contains Transmitter Module FCC ID: XYZMODEL1” or “Contains FCC ID: XYZMODEL1.” For Industry Canada, the module meets certification labeling requirements for Category I Equipment. The module is appropriately labeled (refer to the label and label location drawings contained within this application). Information to the integrator of this device regarding the labeling requirements for the host system is contained in the instructions provided with the module. The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements. The module meets the requirements for a mobile/portable device that may be used at separation distances of more than 8mm from the human body. Refer to the RF Exposure test report submitted with this application.

(4). Maximum output power and antenna gain SPECIFICATION The maximum peak conducted output power of the intentional radiator shall not exceed 1 watt (30 dBm). The e.i.r.p. shall not exceed 4 W (36 dBm) (Canada). RESULTS The maximum Peak Conducted Output Power was measured using the channel integration method according to point 9.1.2. of Guidance for Performing Compliance Measurements on Digital Transmission Systems (DTS) Operating Under §15.247 558074 D01 DTS Meas Guidance v03r01 dated 09/04/2013. This method was used for 802.11ac80 mode . The maximum conducted (average) output power was measured using the method according to point 9.2.1.2. of Guidance for Performing Compliance Measurements on Digital Transmission Systems (DTS) Operating Under §15.247 558074 D01 DTS Meas Guidance v03r01 dated 09/04/2013. This method was used for 802.11a, 802.11n20 and 802.11n40 modes . In the measure-and-sum approach for MIMO mode, the conducted emission level (e.g., transmit power or power in specified bandwidth) is measured at each antenna port. The measured results at the various antenna ports are then summed mathematically to determine the total emission level from the device. Summing is performed in linear power units (mW—not dBm). The EIRP power (dBm) is calculated by adding the declared maximum antenna gain to the measured conducted power. For MIMO mode, the Guidance on directional Gain calculations according to the Guidance for Emission Testing of Transmitters with Multiple Outputs in the Same Band 662911 D01 Multiple Transmitter Output v02r01 dated 10/31/2013 was used. The number of transmit antennas (N ANT) are 2 and the number of spatial streams (Nss) are 2 and therefore the Array Gain is 0 dB. MAXIMUM OUTPUT POWER. (See next plots of worst case: highest power). Power Output listed is conducted. Modular Approval. The antenna(s) used for this device must not be co-located with any other transmitters, except in accordance with FCC multi-transmitter product procedures. This module is approved in mobile/portable configurations. Only those antenna(s) tested with the device or similar antenna(s) with equal or lesser gain may be used with this transmitter. Grantee must coordinate with OEM integrators to determine applicable host configurations to ensure RF exposure compliance, including simultaneous transmission SAR requirements according to published KDB 616217 Supplement documentation. When all conditions of this filing cannot be met installation of this device into specific final products may require the submission of a permissive change application, containing appropriate data demonstrating compliance, or a new application. Device is a 2 x 2 MIMO configuration, enabled for either 2.4 or 5 GHz band and has 20 MHz and 40 MHz bandwidth operations as described in this filing. OEM/Host integrators must be provided with antenna installation instructions and transmitter operating conditions to satisfy RF exposure compliance. OEM/Host integrator is responsible for complying with the instructions and requirements for each transmitter they choose to integrate into a host product. The highest measured body SAR value is: 0.55 W/kg. Simultaneous TX: 1.55W/kg.
