All inputs to the modules are buffered through the radio circuitry. 3 The modular transmitter has its own power supply regulator. 4 The modular transmitter has an antenna that complies with section 15.203 and 15.204(c) of the FCC rules. It has a UFL type of connector at the transmitter end and is soldered to the antenna (depending on OEM configuration). Also the antenna will be internal in the OEM host equipment and inaccessible to the user. 5 The modular transmitter was tested outside of a host desktop computer using a PCI extender card. The PCI extender card allows the transmitter to be placed outside of the chassis of the host desktop computer. 6 The modular transmitter will be labeled with its own FCC ID. Also, the OEM host computer manufacturer will be informed to display a label referring to the enclosed module. The exterior label will read as follows: “Contains Transmitter Module FCC ID” or “Contains TXFCCID”. 7 The modular transmitter is manufactured so that the user cannot influence the operation of the transmitter that will operate outside of the scope of the regulations. 8 The modular transmitter meets the MPE calculations of 47 CFR 1.1307(b)(1). Please note that further comments may arise in response to answers provided to the questions below. FCC 1. Please note that the 731 shows 550mW as the power for 2412MHz. Please note that the proper frequency bands for a WLN device in the 2.4GHz range is 2412 to 2462MHz. Please correct the 731 form to show the actual measured maximum power and frequency ranges for the various frequency bands. 2. Please note that the tune up procedure and other documentation indicates that this device operates on non-US frequencies. Please provide information explaining how non-US frequencies are prevented from being accessed by the user and how these non-US frequencies are disabled so the OEM integrator cannot enable them. If this information has been provided, please give the location of this information. 3. Please note that page 8 of the report states that the typical transmit power of the device for 802.11g is significantly different than the transmit powers listed on the 731 and in the table on page 6. Please explain. 4. FYI – No action needed. Please note that on page 33 of the report you show 11.649GHz as needing only to be -20dB from the peak. Please note that 11.649GHz is in the restricted bands and the limits are 54dBuV average and 74dBuV peak. While the device is compliant, the report should reflect the proper limits. 5. In the note on page 119 of the manual it states,” To avoid the possibility of exceeding the FCC radio frequency exposure limits, you should keep a distance of at least 2 cm between you (or any other person in the vicinity) and the antenna that is built into the computer.” As this can only be in stalled with a mandatory 20cm separation requirement, shouldn’t this statement also indicate 20cm? Please verify and correct as necessary. 6. Please note that there does not appear to be OEM instructions to place a label on the host as follows or similar, “Contains FCC ID: PD9WM3B2915ABG”.
