1 Quick Start Guide 2 Welcome Thank you for choosing Arlo. Getting started is easy. 3 What’s Included Base stationBase station power adapter Lithium 123 batteries (number of batteries varies with number of cameras) Ethernet cableMounting screws 100% wireless camera(s) Magnetic wall mounts 4 1 Get the App For the best experience, download the Arlo app for your smartphone by scanning the QR code below or searching for “Arlo” in the app store. http://www.netgear.com/arloapps 5 Connect Your Base Station to the Internet Connect the base station to your router using an Ethernet cable. Connect the AC adapter to your base station and plug it in. 2 6 Turn the base station on by pressing the On-Off button. The power LED and Internet LED on the front of the base station turn green in about two minutes. (If this doesn’t happen, visit http://support.arlo.com for troubleshooting tips.) 7 Get an Account Launch the app from your smartphone and click the New System Setup button. Follow the on-screen instructions. 3 Available AFTER beta Or from a computer, visit https://arlo.netgear.com/ and follow the on-screen instructions. 8 Set Up and Sync Your Cameras Insert batteries • Unlock the battery compartment by sliding and holding the latch. • Slide the battery door back and lift it to open the compartment. • Insert the batteries as shown and close the battery door. 4 9 Sync your cameras with the base station Bring the camera within one to three feet (30 to 100 centimeters) of the base station. 1’ - 3’ 30 cm - 100 cm 10 Press the Sync button on the side of the base station. Wait for the sync status LED to blink green. Press the Sync button on top of the camera. Cameras must be synced one at a time. Sync your cameras with the base station (cont’d) 11 A blue LED on the camera blinks rapidly to confirm sync. The camera is ready for viewing. Note: The LED blinks amber if the sync is not successful. You must repeat the sync process. The camera LED on the base station turns solid green after the camera is synced. Repeat these steps for each camera. Note: If the sync procedure is not completed within 60 seconds, press the Sync button on the base station and try again. 12 Place or Mount Your Cameras Locate a spot for your camera You can place your camera on a shelf or other flat surface, or you can mount it to the wall. 5 Tip: Use the Arlo app in Position mode (found in Camera Settings) to help aim the camera. 13 To mount your camera to the wall: Fasten the mounting screw into the wall, and hang the magnetic mount from the screw. If you’re mounting the camera to drywall, be sure to use the drywall plastic anchors that are provided. Tip: You can also use double-sided tape instead of screws. 14 You’re Done! Congratulations! Your Arlo System is set up and ready to go. DO NOT TURN OFF BASE STATION OR CAMERAS. Green Cameras are connected to the base station. Blinking green The base station is sending data over the Internet. Green The base station is powered on. Blinking green The base station is attempting to sync with a camera. Green The base station is connected to the Internet. Amber The base station is booting up. Off The base station is powered off. Blinking amber A camera is too far from the base station. Signal strength is weak. Off No cameras detected.. Amber The base station is connected to the router but does not have an Internet connection. Off The base station is not connected to your router. Notification of Compliance Regulatory Compliance Information This document includes user requirements for operating NETGEAR products in accordance with national laws including usage of radio spectrum and operation of radio devices. Failure of the end-user to comply with the applicable requirements may result in unlawful operation and adverse action against the end-user by the applicable national regulatory authority. The NETGEAR product firmware limits operation to only the channels allowed in a particular region or country. Therefore, all options described in this document may not be available in your version of the product. This document applies to both Class A and Class B devices:  Class A devices are intended to be used in a commercial or industrial environment. They are not intended to be used in a residential home or be available for general public use.  Class B devices are intended to be used in a residential setting, and may also be used in commercial and industrial applications. Examples of Class B devices are telephones, personal computers, and residential data gateways.  Fuses should only be installed by service personnel.  NETGEAR recommends the use of 26 AWG or larger gauge phone line cords. Europe – EU Declaration of Conformity This section applies to products bearing the CE or CE! mark: Products bearing the CE or CE! mark comply with the following EU directives:  EMC Directive 2004/108/EC  Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC  Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC  RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU If the product has telecommunications functionality, it also complies with the requirement of the following EU directive:  R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC Compliance with these directives implies conformity to harmonized European standards that are noted in the EU Declaration of Conformity. Caution for installing this equipment outdoors: (Valid in all EU member states, EFTA states, and Switzerland.) Be aware that outdoor installations require special attention and will only be handled by trained and qualified installation personnel. No one from the general public is permitted to install NETGEAR wireless products outdoors when external antennas, power and grounding must be installed for use. Particular attention has to be given allowed operational frequencies. Contact NETGEAR for instructions on how to contact an installer for outdoor operations if this product requires the special considerations for outdoor installations. For detailed iformation concerning installations in France, the user should contact the national spectrum authority in France (http://www.arcep.fr/ ) The following paragraphs apply to WN2500RP: This device is a 2.4GHz and 5GHz wideband transmission system (transceiver), intended for indoor use only in all EU member states, EFTA states, and Switzerland. In Italy the end-user should apply for a license at the national spectrum authorities in order to obtain authorization to use the device for setting up outdoor radio links and/or for applying public access to telecommunications and/or network services. This device may not be used for setting up outdoor radio links in France and in some areas the RF output power may be limited to 10mW EIRP in the frequency range of 2454-2483.5 MHz. For detailed information the end-user should contact the national spectrum authority in France. Warning NETGEAR Class A products that may be utilized in domestic/residential environments may cause radio interference in which case the user may be required to take adequate measures.
