American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 March 2, 2005 RE: Netgear Inc. IC Number: PY3WGPS606 After a review of the submitted information, I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. 1) Please provide agency letter for this application. 2) Some documents appear to have confidentiality requested, but a confidentiality letter was not provided. Please provide. 3) Please provide a separate RF exposure exhibit. 4) Please explain compliance to 15.203. The users manual states the antenna is detachable. 5) RF exposure information in the users manual cites 1 cm and 20 cm on page 3. Note that this is considered a mobile device and should cite 20 cm. Please correct the 1 cm reference. 6) Some peak to average data > 1 GHz appear to have almost a 20 dB delta. This is highly unusual and implies that the device may have had a duty cycle associated with the carrier or an inappropriate large span that attributes to bad dynamic range, even if the carrier was set to continuous TX. Most 802.11 devices with appropriate measurement techniques have an 8-12 dB difference between the peak and average spurious emissions. Note that average measurements are only considered valid if the VBW is > 1/Ton time which appears may not have been the case here. Please verify these unusual readings as necessary. Timothy R. Johnson Examining Engineer mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.
