MESSAGE 1 (1) Prepared (also subject responsible if other) No. MICMRBS MIC/AD/RQ-02:003 Approved Checked Date Rev Reference MIC/AD/RQ (R Borchers) 2002-05-21 B COMPONENT COMPATIBILITY Regarding the components in ROK 104 001 and TVK 1280084 (prodno. LPY 111 352) the following applies. - The crystal is identical in the two modules/designs. - The voltage regulator is fully compatible except regarding max supply voltage which is 16V for the LP2985 (on TVK 1280084) and 6V for the LP3985 (on ROK 104 001). Fully compatible means that all characteristical data are almost identical and the small differences do not affect the radio performance. We have been using both types during development of ROK 104 001 without finding any differences in the module’s/designs data. Roger Borchers Manager Component Engineering

The requirements of the FCC Public notice DA00-1407 are met. The following requirements are fulfilled: 1. The modular transmitter must have its own RF shielding The radio portion of the module is contained in its own RF shielding. See photos in exhibits. 2. The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs The modulation/Data inputs are buffered. 3. The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation The modular transmitter has its own power supply regulation. FCC Federal Communications Commission Project name: 4_INFIN_0203_BTT - 2 - 4. The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204c The transmitter shall only be used with the tested antenna. 5. The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration The EUT was tested in the requested a stand-alone configuration. 6. The modular transmitter must be labelled with its own FCC ID number The EUT will be labelled with its own FCC ID number. The label is specified in related exhibit. If the module is installed inside of an end-product, the label will not be visible. In this case the OEM customer will be instructed to how to apply the exterior label. 7. The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. The EUT is compliant with all applicable FCC rules. Detail instructions are given in the Users Guide. 8. The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements. The maximum measured power output is 1,41 mW (1,5 dBm), the maximum antenna gain is 1,6 dBi = numeric gain 1,445 (see also FCC test report) The maximum permissible exposure is defined in 47 CFR 1.1310 with 1 mW/cm². The distance from the EUT's transmitting antenna where the exposure level reaches the maximum permitted level is calculated using the general equation: S = P*G / 4πR² S max = 1mW/cm², P = 1,41 mW, linear power gain relative to the isotropic radiator = 1,6 dBi = 1,445 (numeric gain), R = distance in cm Solving for R, the 1mW/cm² limit is reached in a distance of 0,40 cm to the transmitting antenna. After installation of Infineon Bluetooth module “ROK 104001”, the minimum distance of 0,40 cm must always be ensured. During normal use of this device it is impossible that the user gets closer to the transmitting antenna. Please contact us if you have any additional questions. Best Regards 7layers AG

Data sheet Bluetooth ™ Swivel Antenna PCB Bluetooth ™ Swivel Antenna SMA Omnidirectional for optimal radiation performance Length: 50 mm Art No: 6076019 Art No: 6069019 PCBSMA λ This is our standard Swivel Antenna intended for use with all 2.4 GHz applica- tions where very high performance is of utmost importance and a small foot- print is of lesser consideration. Since this is a half-wave antenna, it is indepen- dent of ground plane and the design minimizes special considerations for its placement. Typical application areas are: • Desktop PCs • Printers • Instruments • Network access points • Development prototypes Description The Bluetooth Swivel Antenna is a half-wave ( 2 ) antenna for external or internal mounting. Two designs are available: • provided with a standard SMA connector. • soldered directly on the PCB allowing the radiator to be placed outside the casing. No external matching network is required. The adjustable radiator is made of a flexible material and can be rotated 360 degrees in order to optimize radiation performance. gigaAnt, E-mail: [email protected], www.gigaAnt.com Specification subject to change without notice , FE 010012 Your strategic partner for antenna technology in the 2.4 GHz frequency band. Power listed is conducted. This modular transmitter is approved for use in computers and peripherals, handheld devices and accessories, industrial and medical sensors, access points and home base stations, and may operate in conjunction with other mobile and portable transmitters; provided, the other mobile and portable transmitters have satisfied the appropriate RF exposure requirements contained in the FCC rules. The grantee also must provide OEM integrators, or end users if marketed directly to end users, with installation and operating instructions for satisfying RF exposure requirements. The Grantee must inform second manufacturers/installers that in order for this module to be operated in any configuration other than that permitted in the preceding sentences, a separate FCC equipment authorization must be obtained for each device into which this module is installed. The only antennas approved for use with this module are those documented in the filing, and must be installed in the manner specified therein. If the Grantee does not provide an antenna with this module, it may not be sold to the end- user, but may be sold to a second manufacturer/installer. Instructions must be provided by the Grantee to the second manufacturer/installer that describe how this module must be installed into a final product in such a manner that only the authorized antenna(s) is (are) used, and it complies with the requirements of Section 15.203 (i.e., has either a permanently attached antenna or utilizes a unique connector). Compliance of this module in its final configuration is the responsibility of the Grantee. If the second manufacturer/installer desires to use an antenna with this module that has not been previously approved for use with it, then the Grantee must file a Class II permissive change to approve the new antenna with the module. Alternatively, the second manufacturer/installer may obtain a separate FCC equipment authorization for the module and the new antenna. If the second manufacturer/installer markets a device that does not comply with the Grantee instructions for antenna configuration without having obtained a separate FCC equipment authorization for the module and new antenna configuration, that device will be considered unauthorized equipment. Marketing of unauthorized equipment is prohibited by Section 2.803 of the FCC Rules.
