Users Manual

Operation Modes: The iCLASS reader is equipped with 2 electronically interlocked devices. The iCLASS Proximity Reader and the Piezoelectric Keypad. The iCLASS reader supports the following operation modes: 1. Prox – Pin. Present iCLASS Prox card. The unit will read the content and send it over the Data wires to the Controller. Enter PIN code. The unit will send the PIN code over the same Data wires to the host. The Keypad and the Prox reader are interlocked so that when one is functioning the other is inhibited until the data is transmitted. 2. Prox Only. The prox electronics is independently communicating via Data wires. 3. Keypad only. The keypad electronics is independently communicating via Data wires. Verification Power up the unit. The buzzer will beep once . In the same time the RED or the Green LED will come ON depending on the Central Controller setup. Present a valid HID encrypted iCLASS card at 2. 5 cm distance maximum. The unit will activate the Buzzer once and the illuminated LED will blink. Enter a key . The unit will activate the Buzzer once. Wiring Recommended cable is ALPHA 1295 ( 22AWG) 5-conductor stranded with overall shield or equivalent. COLOR FUNCTION ELECTRICAL FUNCTION RED Input Voltage 10 VDC - 16 VDC BLACK Ground GREEN Data 0 Open collector 1Kohm pull-up to internal +5V WHITE Data 1 Open collector 1Kohm pull-up to internal +5V BROWN LED Input BLUE CCTV output Open collector 0,150 mA activated with each key for 30 sec VIOLET Housing Ground ORANGE Buffered Input GREY Tamper Output Open collector 0,100 A “Low” when light sensed 1. Operational Description

6/18/2003 Product Technical Description The ICLASS Proximity reader with Keypad ASHKB is used to facilitate Controlled Access. The unit reads data embedded on special encoded Proximity cards, allows for P.I.N. number enter and deliver it to a central controller using Wiegand protocol. The iCLASS Proximity reader ASHKB is built of 3 parts as follows: 1. PCB with Piezoelectric switches . 12 units connected into a Matrix of 3 Columns and 4 Rows. This PCB holds the antenna for the HID module. The Antenna is built onto the PCB as 3 Loops of 3 Ounces Copper Wires. The same PCB holds the Tuning capacitors for the antenna. The Antenna is tuned at the factory and there is no access to it unless the product is damaged. 2. HID manufactured iCLASS Module Model OEM 100 Reader/Writer OEM Module Allows for easy integration of iCLASS read/write contactless smart card technology into third-party manufactured product. • Base Model Number: 3100* Frequency of 13.56 MHz • Provides Wiegand and TTL output formats in a compact package. • Dimensions: 3.600" x 1.450" x .454" (9.144 cm x 3.683 cm x 1.153 cm). The Module is Proprietary to HID and electronic design not disclosed. This module is connected via Coaxial cable 10 cm long to the antenna. 3. Electronic Interface. This part provides the management and the outside communication for the Piezoelectric switches and the OEM 100 HID module. The entire unit is integrated into an aluminum shell and Potted. There is no access to the electronics unless the product function is impaired. The unit is designed to work on 10 to 16 VDC with a consumption of 70 mA and peaks of 250 mA.
