Menu key • Touch to access Settings options. • Touch and hold to open a list of thumbnail images of applications you've worked with recently. These keys become visible when the screen lights up. Power key • Press: Lock the screen/Light up the screen • Press and hold: Power on or generate a pop up menu providing more options, such as Power off, Restart, Airplane mode, etc. • Press and hold Power key and Volume down key to capture a screenshot. • Press to mute the ringtone when there’s an incoming call. Volume keys • In call mode, adjust the earpiece or headset volume. • In Music/Video/Streaming mode, adjust the media volume. • Mute the ringtone of an incoming call. • Press to light up the screen when it dims during a call. IP4867_6043A_QG_USA_140630.indd 4-52014/6/30 16:18:51 67 1�2 Getting started 1�2�1 Set-up An insertion tool is provided with the phone package, please use it to install or remove the SIM/SD card conveniently. Inserting or removing the SIM card You must insert your SIM card to make phone calls. You do not need to power off your phone before inserting or removing the SIM card as this phone can support hot swap. Before you install or remove the SIM card, press the raised dot on the card slot cover to open it. Insert the SIM card until it locks in place. To remove it, press the SIM card until it releases. Your phone only supports micro-SIM card. Do not attempt to insert other SIM types, otherwise you may damage your phone. Installing or removing the microSD card Installing the SIM card Removing the SIM card Insert the external microSD card into the slot with the gold contact facing down until it locks. To remove the external microSD card, gently push it until it unlocks. Before removing the microSD card, ensure the phone is off, to protect it from corruption or damage. In addition, regularly removing or inserting the SD card may cause the phone to restart. Charging the battery Connect the charger to your smartphone and wall socket. If the battery is very low, there will be no indication that power is being received until the charge is sufficient to show the charging status bar. It may take up to 20 minutes to display the battery charger indicator on the screen. To reduce power consumption and energy waste, once the battery is fully charged, disconnect your charger from the plug; switch off Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth or background-running applications when not in use, reduce the backlight time, etc. 1�2�2 Power on your smartphone Hold down the Power key until the smartphone powers on. It will take a few seconds before the screen lights up. Set up your smartphone for the first time The first time you power on your smartphone, you should set the following options: language, date & time, Google account, etc. 1�2�3 Power off your smartphone Hold down the Power key from the Home screen until options appear, select Power off.
