Part 15.231(a): Noted the “Ed. 2” additional note on page 5/10 of test report. Part 15.231(a) allows data to be sent only with a control signal. Part 15.231(e) does not have such restriction. In order to comply with 15.231 (a), it is required that the device sends periodic (not continuous) data with a control signal . Also, the control signal must be described. Please provide additional information on the control signal. Alternatively, according to the maximum radiated emissions reported, this device appears to also comply with the limit of 15.231(e). However the 15.231(e) has a silent period requirement between transmissions. Please confirm whether you are applying for 15.231(e) or 15.231(a)? Answer: To send a word thanks to this equipment, it is necessary to use HyperTerminal software. The product only accepts to send one word of 128 bits maximum length and then gets in sleeping mode. It is a manual operation. In addition, maximum transmission speed is 2400 bits per second. Then, product will come in sleeping mode at most after 54 ms Transmitted information is fixed (for example "0110101010100”) and defined by user. The receiver will read it as an ON/OFF signal for example (remote control application). For this application (valuation tool demonstration) transmitted data is simply displayed on a screen. We then confirm that we are applying 15.231(a) Olivier HEYER Centre Manager
