w ireless accessory for Setup Guide wireless module wireless receiver mimio software CD power supply (US ONLY) 12” receiver USB cable * For use with mimio Xi only. System Requirements • Windows® Compatible PC with a Pentium II, 400 MHz processor minimum. • Microsoft® Windows 98SE, Me, 2000 or XP operating system. • 64 MB RAM minimum (128 MB RAM recommended). • Available USB port. Setup Process Depress the release button to remove the linkUSB module from the mimio Xi capture bar. Insert/slide the wireless module into mimio Xi capture b ar. Install the mimio software if not already installed (requires v2.74 or higher). Plug the wireless receiver into an available USB port. OR Power on the device. mimio Xi can be powered by 4AA b atteries or b y the included AC power suppl y (US ONLY). Open the mimio software (v2.74 or higher). Begin writing with a mimio stylus pen to use y our wireless mimio Xi. Maximum wireless range is 30 feet in an open air environment. User Interface Link Status Indicator Green : A wireless link is established between the unit and the PC. Amber: There is no wireless link between the unit and the PC. Flashing amber and green: Unit is in a learning process. Data Transmission Indicator Slow flashing green: System is idle. Fast flashing green: Pen data is being communicated to the PC. Off: No data is being communicate d between the unit and the PC. Troubleshooting The wireless mimio module and re ceiver are programmed at the factory and are packaged as a mated pair to work “out of the box” without any user intervention. They are an exclusive pair of components that will only communica te to one another. This allows for more than one wireless mimio system to co-exist in the same environment without causing confus ion over which wireless module communicates to which wireless receiver. Since the wireless module and wirele ss receiver are designed to work exclusively as a pair, you cannot casually interchange a wireless module from one wireless system with a wireless receiver from another wireless system and expect it to work; mixed components will not be able to communicate unless they have been programmed as a pair. A wireless module can only be paired with one wireless receiver at any given point in time; you cannot program one wireless module to work with multiple wire less receivers and vice versa. If you own multiple wireless mimio systems and mistakenly get the wireless module and receiver comp onents mixed together, you can manually re-program any pair of wireless module and receiver components to work exclusively to gether through a learning process. The learning process is described in the steps listed below. Teach b utton Learn b utton 1. Power on the mimio Xi captur e bar (with wireless module). 2. Plug the wireless receiver into an available USB port on your PC. 3. Using a paper clip, press the teach button on the wireless receiver to initiate the learning process. 4. Press the recessed learn button on the wireless module with the tip of a pen or the end of a paper clip to complete the learning process. 5. The Link Status LED will start flashing amber and green while the learning process is underway. Once the wireless module and receiver are mated, the Link Stat us LED will turn to a solid green color to identify the 2 components have been paired and that a wireless connection is established. The first module shown in Figure 1 (USB wireless module / receiver) connects to the PC. The second module shown in Figure 2 (wireless device module) connects to the mimio Xi device. Radiated test procedure: The EUT, associated cables and peripheral devices are placed on the supporting table and any support equipment is placed off the site. The EUT is turned on and any necessary operating or test software installed and allowed to warm up. The EUT is pre-scanned in our ferrite tile lined chamber where it is rotated 360 degrees and examined in both horizontal and vertical polarization, all emission frequencies are identified and recorded. The EUT is then moved to the OATS and the frequency band from 30 MHz to 40 GHz is scanned, all frequencies identified in the chamber are investigated, as well as harmonic frequencies of the EUT. When an emission is found the emission is maximized by varying the bundle position of the connecting cables, the antenna height, the antenna polarization (vertical and horizontal) and the table orientation (360 degrees). The maximum reading is recorded and the next signal is searched for. Conducted test procedure: The power line of the EUT is connected to the LISN (Line Impedance Stabilization Network). A measurement of the emissions are made from the power line for both phase and neutral on the analyzer in the frequency range from 150 kHz to 30 MHz. The maximum readings are recorded for each phase.
