#712716 Alert Transmitter Instructions for Application, Use and Care Overview The AliMed Alert Transmitter turns any alarm with a ¼” nurse call jack connector into a wireless monitoring system. The Alert Transmitter plugs into the nurse call jack and communicates wirelessly to the AliMed Wireless Night Light and/or the AliMed External Wireless Alarm. Use The Alert Transmitter can be used with any alarm that contains a ¼” nurse call jack connector including sensor, pull cord, and PIR systems. The Alert Transmitter sends a signal to the Wireless Night Light, which then illuminates 4 LED lights, or communicates with the External Wireless Alarm that sounds an alarm and flashes when a patient alarm is triggered. Setup 1. Activation To activate, pull plastic battery tab on Alert Transmitter. 2. Set-Up and Pair 1. To pair the AliMed External Wireless Alarm or AliMed Wireless Night Light to the AliMed Wireless Transmitter, press and release the SYNC button (located just under the nurse-call pin and jack) on both the transmitter and the desired module at the same time, then release. 2. The indicator light on the AliMed Wireless Transmitter will flash green 3 times when successfully paired, and then turn off. 3. The indicator light of the other paired unit (AliMed Wireless Night Light and/or AliMed External Wireless Alarm) will flash green 3 times when successfully paired, then enters “Normal” operating mode and flashes 1 time every 5 seconds. 4. Each Wireless Transmitter may be paired with up to 4 separate external wireless alarms or wireless night lights. 5. This process should take less than 1 minute to complete per unit. 6. If pairing is NOT successful within 5 seconds after the pairing buttons are pressed, the indicator light of the AliMed Wireless Transmitter and the other pairing units (AliMed External Wireless Alarm or AliMed Wireless Night Light) will flash RED 3 times. Go back to #1 and start the pairing process again. 3. Preparation for Usage 1. Plug the Alert Transmitter into the nurse call jack on your alarm. An indicator light will briefly flash when the device is working properly. 2. Low Battery – When the batteries of the Alert Transmitter are low, it will flash a RED alert light once every 5 seconds. During this time, it will also send signals to its paired device(s) to sound an audible alarm once every 5 seconds. During this time, the Alert Transmitter will continue to flash red once every 5 seconds and and operates “Normally” when triggered by signal received from the ¼” nurse call jack of the sensor alarm. 3. If batteries are not replaced during this time, the Alert Transmitter will enter EXTREMELY low battery stage, the Alert Transmitter will STOP “Normal” operation completely, the indicator light will show solid RED until batteries die. 4. To Replace Batteries 1. Loosen 2 screws at the base of the Alert Transmitter, then unsnap to remove rear cover. 2. Install (2) CR2450 coin cell batteries. 3. Replace the rear cover and then tighten the screws. 4. The indicator LED of the device will show a solid green for ~3 seconds, then return to “Normal” operation and stop flashing. Re-pairing with the corresponding wireless device(s) is not necessary as previous pairing stays in memory if batteries are replaced when the device is flashing RED 1 time every 5 seconds. 5. If batteries are replaced when the indicator light is in solid red or batteries completely die, it is recommended to re-do pairing with the corresponding wireless devices after batteries are replaced. For pairing instruction, refer to #2 Setup and Pair and start the pairing process again. Limited 6 Month Warranty Manufacturer guarantees the Alert Transmitter for 6 months from date of purchase. This warranty is in force provided there is no evidence of misuse or improper installation Technical Specifications Power source: (2) CR2450 coin cell batteries Transmission Frequency: 2.406GHz-2.476 GHz Warnings Note: The manufacturer does not claim that this system (Alert Transmitter, Wireless Night Light, and External Wireless Alarm) will prevent falls.
