The first time you switch on your TomTom ONE, it may take up to 20 seconds to start. To switch off your TomTom ONE, press and hold the On/Off button for 2 seconds. Setting up You have to answer a few questions to set up your TomTom ONE. Answer the questions by tapping the screen. You will use the touchscreen for everything you do with your ONE. Locating your current position Your TomTom ONE must be outdoors to locate your current position. The first time you start your ONE, it can take up to 5 minutes to find your current position. If it takes longer than 5 minutes, make sure that you are in an open place without tall buildings or trees around you. Once your ONE has located your current position, the Driving View is shown in full color and shows your position on the map. Important • Everyone loves TomTom ONE, so never leave your ONE in your car when you’re not using it - it’s an easy target for thieves. • Make sure your windshield is clean and dry before trying to attach the holder. • Place the windshield holder so it does not block your view of the road. • Make a backup of your TomTom ONE. You can make a backup using TomTom HOME. For more information, see TomTom HOME on page 8. • To make driving even safer with your TomTom ONE, use the Safety preferences in the Preferences menu. Note: Your TomTom ONE does not transmit your position. You can, however, send your position to TomTom Buddies. For more information, visit www.tomtom.com/plus Note: Some vehicles have a heat reflective shield embedded in the windshield that may prevent TomTom ONE from locating your current position. If this is a problem in your vehicle, use the TomTom External Antenna Kit (available as an accessory). Edinburgh_qsg_EN.book Page 5 Tuesday, December 12, 2006 3:54 PM Making your first trip 6 EN Making your first trip Planning a route with your TomTom ONE is very simple. When you enter an address, you can choose from four options: •City center - tap this button to set your destination as the center of a city or town. •Street and house number - tap this button to set an exact address as your destination. •Postcode - tap this button to enter a zip code as your destination (fully supported only in UK and the Netherlands). •Crossing or intersection - tap this button to set your destination as the point where two streets meet. For your first trip, we will enter an exact address. Edinburgh_qsg_EN.book Page 6 Tuesday, December 12, 2006 3:54 PM Making your first trip 7 EN 4. Tap Street and house number. 5. Your ONE asks you whether you need to arrive at a particular time. Tap YES to enter an arrival time. Your ONE shows you whether you will arrive on time. 9. When the route has been calculated, tap Done. Your TomTom ONE will immediately start guiding you to your destination with spoken instructions and visual instructions on the screen. Note: Before you can plan a route in this way, your TomTom ONE must first locate your current position. Thank you. Best Regards, Amanda from Tim Dwyer <[email protected]> hide details Jan 2 (15 hours ago) to [email protected] cc "[email protected]" <[email protected]> date Jan 2, 2007 7:22 PM subject Re: TomTom BV , FCC ID: S4LONE-CK, Assessment NO.: AN06T6405, Notice#1 mailed- by gmail.com Please note Item 3 has been added below. Dear CCS, The review of this application is complete. There are two minor issues that must be resolved before the grant can be issued. 1. Section 7.7.1 of the test report shows emissions at 4.82, 4.90, 4.94, and 7.44 GHz. These emissions are in the restricted bands described in 15.205. These emissions are not reported in the radiated emissions section 7.7.2. Please provide additional data of a statement to confirm that the radiated emissions at these frequencies comply with the radiated emission limits of 15.209. Ans: Attached please find the revised test report, page 39,41-42,44-45,47-48, with test plots attached. Frequencies out of 2.4~2.5GHz band would been 'filtered' by the antenna due to the unique characteristics of the antenna. 2. Section 7.7.1 of the test report reports an emission at 2.49 GHz. 2.49 GHz is outside the allocated frequency range. The probable cause for reporting this frequency is understood, however additional data or explanation is needed. For example, you may be able to use the "Marker Count" function at that frequency to provide better frequency resolution. Ans: The actual frequency is 2480MHz, we can see it in the 20dBc plot. Since the sweep points of the plots is only 601pts, the total span of the 24.97GHz is divided only for 601pts, with 41.55MHz per points, caused the frequency shifting due to inadequate frequency resolution. Conducted test was carried on without stop, so the actual frequency is confirmed as 2480MHz. 3. The "Portable <20cm" checkbox in report Appendix I has been selected. The "Mobile >20cm" box should be selected for consistency. Please correct this. This item has also been included in the related Industry Canada application review. Ans: This EUT can be handheld too, so it is considered as protable device. Please note that a review of the related Industry Canada application (AN06I1917) is in progress, and I will forward results of that soon. The items listed above may need to be addressed in the Industry Canada application also. Best regards, Tim Dwyer CCS Technical Reviewer The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information within 30 days of the original e- mail date may result in application dismissal and forfeiture of the filing fee. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the e-mail address listed below the name of the sender.
