Data and power connector details The data and power connector is an 8 way Molex 52745 series (0.5mm pitch, top contact) FFC-FPC connector. A Molex 98266-007x / 21020-07x cable should be used with this connector. Pin Function 1 5V ±5% DC supply. Average operating current 800mA, peak operating current 1.5A. Connect to both pins 2 5V ±5% DC supply. Average operating current 800mA, peak operating current 1.5A. The antenna characteristics have a significant effect on overall reader performance. A 50Ω antenna with return loss better than 10dB over the operating frequency range should be used. The only antenna currently approved for use with the 1116-01-UHF reader is the 1095FCC circularly polarised patch antenna available from Technology Solutions (UK) Ltd. Company Number: 02777518 VAT Number: GB 620 0306 11 Request for Limited Modular Approval – FCC ID: S6J-1116 Technology Solutions (UK) Ltd are seeking FCC approval for the 1116 UHF RFID reader as a module. The reader is compliant to the conditions in Public Notice DA 00- 1407 and FCC 07-56: 1. The modular transmitter must have its own RF shielding. The module has an RF shield as shown in the photographs submitted as part of this application. 2. The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs. The module incorporates a microcontroller that interprets commands from the host and controls the RF section. This ensures that data from the host cannot cause the RF section to over modulate or attempt to signal at excessive data rates. 3. The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation. All internal supplies are regulated in the module. 4. The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204c. The module shall only be used with the antenna it was tested with. 5. The modular transmitter must be tested in a standalone configuration. The module requires a host computer to operate. The module is for internal use only and will not be marketed to the general public. Technology Solutions (UK) Ltd will file a Class 2 permissive change supported by radiated test results prior to using the module in a new chassis. 6. The modular transmitter must be labelled with its own FCC ID number. The module is labelled with its own FCC ID number. Labelling information is shown in the „FCC ID label and location‟ document. When the module is fitted inside the final product it may not be possible to see the module ID label. ID label design The Main RFID reader ID label has a maximum overall dimension 34.5mmĂ—26.2mm. It is printed on 0.125mm velvet polycarbonate with a 3M 468MP adhesive backing or equivalent. The FCC ID and Industry Canada ID are printed on this label in 6 point text. A 30mmĂ—10mm clear window is left in the main label and behind this a paper label with the module serial number, model number, date of manufacture and country of manufacture is fitted. The module is too small to enable the compliance statement to be included. The text is provided in the user manual of the final product. When the module is fitted inside the final product it may not be possible to see the module ID label. In this case the final product label will include the text “Contains FCC ID: S6J-1116 IC ID: 8948A-1116” 2. Where special accessories, such as shielded cables and/or special connectors are required to enable an unintentional or intentional radiator to comply with the emission limits in this part, the equipment must be marketed with, i.e. shipped and sold with, those special accessories.
