The Slingbox TM enables consumers to watch their TV programming from wherever they are by turning virtually any laptop or Internet-connected device into a personal TV. The Slingbox TM redirects, or "placeshifts," the TV signal from any cable box, satellite receiver, or personal video recorder to a viewer's location and device of choice - whether in another room in the home or anywhere in the world with a high-speed Internet connection. SlingBox personal broadcaster would allow anyone to stream personal digital content (audio, video or both) to multiple clients (Windows Desktops, Notebook PCs, smart phones among others). The streaming is achieved in real time over wired network. The clients can reside on the same network or can access the SlingBox from an external network. SlingBox supports a cable tuner and streaming over 10/100 Ethernet interface. The product is built on the TI DSP TMS320DM640 and uses the Windows Media 9 encoder for audio/video compression.
