DR-WM55 Owner’s Manual *5100021554-01* WARNING Do not attempt to repair the unit, or replace parts within it (except when this manual provides specific instructions directing you to do so). Refer all servicing to your retailer, the nearest Roland Service Center, or an authorized Roland distributor, as listed on the “Information” page. Immediately turn the power off, and request servicing by your retailer, the nearest Roland Service Center, or an authorized Roland distributor, as listed on the “Information” page when: • Objects have fallen into, or liquid has been spilled onto the unit; or • If smoke or unusual odor occurs • The unit has been exposed to rain (or otherwise has become wet); or • The unit does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance. Protect the unit from strong impact. (Do not drop it!) Batteries must never be recharged, heated, taken apart, or thrown into fire or water. Never expose batteries to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. Incorrect handling of batteries, rechargeable Ni-MH battery, or a battery charger can cause leakage, overheating, fire, or explosion. Before use, you must read and strictly observe all of the precau- tions that accompany the batteries, rechargeable Ni-MH battery, or battery charger. When using rechargeable Ni-MH battery and a charger, use only the combination of rechargeable Ni-MH battery and charger specified by the battery manufacturer. CAUTION If used improperly, batteries may explode or leak and cause damage or injury. In the interest of safety, please read and observe the following precautions. • Carefully follow the installation instructions for batteries, and make sure you observe the correct polarity. • Avoid using new batteries together with used ones. In addition, avoid mixing different types of batteries. • Remove the batteries whenever the unit is to remain unused for an extended period of time. • If a battery has leaked, use a soft piece of cloth or paper towel to wipe all remnants of the discharge from the battery compartment. Then install new batteries. To avoid inflammation of the skin, make sure that none of the battery discharge gets onto your hands or skin. Exercise the utmost caution so that none of the discharge gets near your eyes. Immediately rinse the affected area with running water if any of the discharge has entered the eyes. • Never keep batteries together with metallic objects such as ballpoint pens, necklaces, hairpins, etc. IMPORTANT NOTES Power Supply: Use of Batteries • Batteries are supplied with the unit. The life of these batteries may be limited, however, since their primary purpose was to enable testing. • If operating this product on batteries, please use alkaline batteries or rechargeable Ni-MH battery. Placement • This device may interfere with radio and television reception. Do not use this device in the vicinity of such receivers. Panel Descriptions 1 3 2 4 1 [ECHO OFF] switch This turns off the echo that applies to the wireless mic. 2 [ECHO ON] switch This turns on the echo that applies to the wireless mic. If the panel’s [ECHO] knob is in the OFF position, there will be no echo even if you press the [ECHO ON] switch. 3 Power indicator This will light when the wireless mic is switched on. 4 Power switch This turns the wireless mic’s power on/off. Installing Batteries 1. Turn off the mic’s power switch. 2. Turn the grip in the direction of the arrow to remove it. Grip 3. Insert the batteries, making sure that the polarity is correct. 4. Turn the grip in the direction of the arrow to reattach it. Grip * If you leave the wireless mic powered on, its power will automatically turn off two hours after the last operation. The “DR-WM55“ has 5.89 mW of conducted Peak Output power and 12.02 mW of EIRP. This kind of equipment is below 60/frequency[GHz] mW(TCB Exclusion List) so that SAR testing is excluded. The Following calculation is the reference data for 20cm distance. RF Exposure Calculations: The following information provides the minimum separation distance for the highest gain antenna provided with the “DR-WM55“ as calculated from FCC OET Bulletin 65 Appendix A, Table (B) Limits for General Population / Uncontrolled Exposure. This calculation is based on the highest EIRP possible from the system, considering maximum power and antenna gain, and considering a 1.0mW/cm^2 uncontrolled exposure limit. The Friis formula used was: S = (P * G) / (4* π * r 2 ) Where P = 5.89 mW (Maximum peak output power) G = 2.04 Numerical Antenna gain; equal to3.10 dBi r =20.0 cm For: DR-WM55S =0.00239 mW/cm 2 No. : 31DE0278-HO-01 RF Exposure / MPE Calculation
