Safety Precautions Translated versions of the following safety warnings are provided in the Safety Warnings for Cisco Aironet Antennas, which is available at http://www.cisco.com. WarningInstallation of this antenna near power lines is dangerous. For your safety, follow the installation directions. Each year hundreds of people are killed or injured when attempting to install an antenna. In many of these cases, the victim was aware of the danger of electrocution but did not take adequate steps to avoid the hazard. For your safety, and to help you achieve a good installation, please read and follow these safety precautions. They may save your life! 1.If you are installing an antenna for the first time, for your own safety as well as others, seek professional assistance. Your Cisco sales representative can explain which mounting method to use for the size and type antenna you are about to install. 2.Select your installation site with safety as well as performance in mind. Remember: electric power lines and phone lines look alike. For your safety, assume that any overhead line can kill you. 252854 5 Cisco Aironet 5-GHz MIMO 6-dBi Patch Antenna (AIR-ANT5160NP-R) 78-19024-01 Installation Notes 3.Call your electric power company. Tell them your plans and ask them to come look at your proposed installation. This is a small inconvenience considering your life is at stake. 4.Plan your installation carefully and completely before you begin. Successful raising of a mast or tower is largely a matter of coordination. Each person should be assigned a specific task, and should know what to do and when to do it. One person should be in charge of the operation to issue instructions and watch for signs of trouble. 5.When installing your antenna, remember: a.Do not use a metal ladder. b.Do not work on a wet or windy day. c.Do dress properly—shoes with rubber soles and heels, rubber gloves, long sleeved shirt or jacket. 6.If the assembly starts to drop, get away from it and let it fall. Remember, the antenna, mast, cable, and metal guy wires are all excellent conductors of electrical current. Even the slightest touch of any of these parts to a power line completes an electrical path through the antenna and the installer: Yo u ! 7.If any part of the antenna system should come in contact with a power line, don’t touch it or try to remove it yourself. Call your local power company. They will remove it safely. 8.If an accident occurs with the power lines, call for qualified emergency help immediately. Installation Notes Antennas transmit and receive radio signals which are susceptible to RF obstructions and common sources of interference that can reduce throughput and range of the device to which they are connected. Follow these guidelines to ensure the best possible performance: •Install the antenna vertically and mount it with the cables pointing towards the ground. •Keep the antenna away from metal obstructions such as heating and air-conditioning ducts, large ceiling trusses, building superstructures, and major power cabling runs. If necessary, use a rigid conduit to lower the antenna away from these obstructions. •The density of the materials used in a building’s construction determines the number of walls the signal can pass through and still maintain adequate signal strength. Consider the following before choosing the location for your antenna: –Signals penetrate paper, vinyl and drywall the easiest. –Signals will be more heavily attentuated passing through concrete and solid wood walls. –Signals will likely reflect off a thick metal wall and may not penetrate it at all. –Signals will likely reflect off a chain link fence or wire mesh spaced between 1 and 1 1/2 in. (2.5 and 3.8 cm). The fence acts as a harmonic reflector that blocks the signal. •Install the antenna away from microwave ovens and 2-GHz cordless phones. These products can cause signal interference because they operate in the same frequency range as the device to which your antenna is connected. 6 Cisco Aironet 5-GHz MIMO 6-dBi Patch Antenna (AIR-ANT5160NP-R) 78-19024-01 Installing the Antenna Choosing a Mounting Location The antenna should be mounted clear of any obstructions to the sides of…

Datasheet 2x2 MIMO BaseStation Sector Antenna Models: AM-5AC21-60, AM-5AC22-45 Advanced Noise Immunity Superior Beam Performance Enhanced Scalability of airMAX® Networks Datasheet 2 Overview As the next generation of 2x2 MIMO sector antennas from Ubiquiti Networks, the airMAX® ac Sector Antennas feature significant advances in scalability, noise isolation, and beam performance to complement the Rocket ™ 5ac radios. They are also compatible with RocketM5 models; however, optimal performance requires the Rocket5ac. Breakthrough Performance The airMAX ac Sector Antennas are highly resistant to noise interference in co-location deployments. The innovative deflector design, together with the reduced sidelobes and backlobes, reject interference from other transmitters in the area – potentially on the same tower. Improved Signal-to-Noise Ratio (S/N or SNR) allows a higher-order modulation to be used, for example, 256QAM rather than 16QAM. This increases the number of bits per second for a fixed bandwidth (or data rate). Due to innovative design, the airMAX ac Sector Antennas provide higher gain and superior beam performance for high-capacity, multipoint networks. Innovative Deflector Design The airMAX ac Sector Antennas are engineered to reject interference and provide enhanced scalability, higher gain, and superior beam performance in PtMP networks. The airMAX ac Sector Antennas provide sector-wide coverage and utilize airMAX technology to provide carrier-class performance and power. Pair the RocketM’s radio with the airMAX Sector Antenna’s reach to create a powerful basestation. This versatile combination gives network architects unparalleled flexibility and convenience. On the right is one example of how the airMAX Sector Antenna can be deployed: Utilize airMAX Technology* Unlike standard Wi-Fi protocol, Ubiquiti’s Time Division Multiple Access ( TDMA) airMAX protocol allows each client to send and receive data using pre-designated time slots scheduled by an intelligent AP controller. This “time slot” method eliminates hidden node collisions and maximizes airtime efficiency. It provides many magnitudes of performance improvements in latency, throughput, and scalability compared to all other outdoor systems in its class. Intelligent QoS P riority is given to voice/video for seamless streaming. Scalability High capacity and scalability. Long Distance C apable of high -speed, carrier-class links. * When airMAX Sector is paired with RocketM airMAX Sector Antennas provide sector-wide coverage and utilize airMAX technology to produce carrier-class performance and power. Up to 100 airMAX clients can be connected to an airMAX Sector; four airMAX clients are shown to illustrate the general concept. airMAX Sector Internet Backbone ISP Network RocketDish with RocketM RocketDish with RocketM PtMP (Point-to-MultiPoint) airMAX Links PtMP (Point to Multi-Point) Link Example PtP (Point-to-Point) Backhaul Link Residence Internet CafeSmall BusinessOutdoor Hotspot Corporate Building airMAX Sector with RocketM Time Slot 1Time Slot 2Time Slot 3Time Slot 4 Wireless Channel Time Slots Packet Prioritization VOIP Data VOIPVOIP Datasheet 3 www.ubnt.com/airmax#airMaxAntennas Models AM-9M13 (900 MHz, 13 dBi) AM-2G15-120 (2.4 GHz, 15 dBi) AM-2G16-90 (2.4 GHz, 16 dBi) AM-3G18-120 (3 GHz, 18 dBi) AM-5G16-120 (5 GHz, 16 dBi) AM-5G17-90 (5 GHz, 17 dBi) AM-5G19-120 (5 GHz, 19 dBi) AM-5G20-90 (5 GHz, 20 dBi) Datasheet 4 www.ubnt.com/airmax#airMaxAntennas Software airOS is an intuitive, versatile, highly developed Ubiquiti firmware technology.
