General Circuit Description 1.0 Product Description (Receiver) The Equipment Under Test (EUT) is a Super-regenerative Receiver for a remote controlled Toy operating at 49.860 MHz. The EUT is powered by 12V Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries. The EUT can be controlled in for moving directions (forward/backward and left/right turn). The brief circuit description is listed as follows: -Q3 and associated circuit act as a RF amplifier. -Q8,9,10,11,12,13and associated circuit act as a steering motor driver. -K1,2 and associated circuit act as a racing motor driver. -IC1 and associated circuit act as decode IC. -D5, Q6 and associated circuit act as power Reguiator circuit to supply the 2.7V power for pre-amp circuit and decode IC. 1.0 Product Description (Transmitter) The Equipment Under Test (EUT) is a transmitter for a remote controlled Toy operating at 27.195 MHz which is controlled by a crystal. The EUT is powered by 9V batteries. There are four switches: Forward and Backward, turn left and right. The brief circuit description is listed as follows: -Q3, X1 and associated circuit act as oscillator. -Q4 and associated circuit act as modulator. -IC1 and associated circuit act as encoder IC.

RADIATION INTERFERENCE: The test procedure used was ANSI C63.4-2003 using a spectrum analyzer with a pre-selector. The bandwidth of the spectrum analyzer was 100 kHz with an appropriate sweep speed. The analyzer was calibrated in dB above a microvolt at the output of the antenna. The resolution bandwidth was 100 kHz and the video bandwidth was 300 kHz. The ambient temperature of the DUT was 25ΒΊC with a humidity of 76%. FORMULA OF CONVERSION FACTORS: The field strength at 3m was established by adding the meter reading of the spectrum analyzer (which is set to read in units of dBuV) to the antenna correction factor supplied by the antenna manufacturer. The antenna correction factors are stated in terms of dB. The gain of the preselector was accounted for in the spectrum analyzer meter reading. Example: Freq (MHz) METER READING + CL + ACF = FS 33 20 dBuV + 1.02 + 10.36 dB = 30.36 dBuV/m @ 3m ANSI STANDARD C63.4-2003 10.1.7 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURES: The unit under test was placed on a table 80 cm high and with dimensions of 1m by 1.5m. The table used for radiated measurements is capable of continuous rotation. The DUT was tested up to the 10 th harmonic with any emissions being found reported. When an emission was found, the table was rotated to produce the maximum signal strength. At this point, the antenna was raised and lowered from 1m to 4m. The antenna was placed in both the horizontal and vertical planes. The situation was similar for the conducted measurement except that the table did not rotate. The DUT was setup as described in ANSI C63.4-2003 with the DUT 40 cm from the vertical ground wall.
